Graphics organizer/viewer..my desktop PICASA no longer works!

My downloaded Picasa no longer works...it will view the graphics, but using the "library" section to view, browser, or sort it's empty and I can't get it to import any of the folders.

SOOoooo
Im in need of recommendations on a free software program that will let me view png, jpg, psd...etc.

Would love to be able to search those items for colors, or meta tags like Picasa did.

Also we have super slow internet, especially when using a PC, so I need something that is NOT web based.

Thanks for any pointers on what might work.

Sorry Laura! I also try to use Picasa occasionally, it's the only good collage making program I've been able to find.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of photo organization has moved to the cloud. I use Google Photos. You could look at Lightroom, which has a lot of editing capabilities, but also has lots of tagging and organizing features.

I’ll look into Lightroom as a possibility when/if we get our Lenovo back From a friend. It went south on us two weeks ago, don’t know if he’s going to be able to fix it or not. May have to replace it, thankfully I think almost every thing should have been duplicated on external drives. Hope to hear good news from him soon.

It had just started to work faster on our WiFi and I was getting back into a groove, after taking a hiatus of training a puppy this this summer.

Photos of puppy please smiley

Are you sure it's not just your settings on Picasa? I'm still using Picasa - I've kept a copy of the install file, and just reinstalled it the other day after refreshing my windows. I even use it with most of my scrapbooking files on an external harddrive.

Yesterday I got my crashed computer back with a new hard drive installed.

Today I've spent trying to load programs and rebuild my system.

I just found an installation file for Picasa, and zip...bang...I'm back in business!

My previous problems, were probably the start of the failing hard drive.

So happy to be back in business with this program, as it's been my go to for organizing and using SVG and photos complete with tags of huge extended family and friends! (all off-line as wifi here is so slow)

Those will be some of my first scrapping...lol...though she's now 6 months and not the puppy she was when we brought her home at 7 weeks. lol

Yay! Glad it worked out for you smiley

Laura I feel for you I am going through a hard drive fail to .. I had everything back up .. but redoing Windows and Apps is a pain ... I am happy you are getting everything straighten out ..
