MY MEMORIES: Centering an image in a photo/clipping mask

Okay - this is going to be a bit of a convoluted question. When I place a photo or clipping mask on the layout page and "add photo to the embellishment," I often need to center the image in the mask. So I double click on the mask and that takes me to the edit window where I can zoom it in or out or grab the image and move it around a little to center it. After I center the image and go back to the layout window, the image appears to be way out of wack. However, when I go to "Preview Album," the image in the mask is the same as in the edit window. When I export a page as a .jpg, the image in the mask is also well centered. It is only when I am in the layout view that images in masks that I have moved around are out of wack. Do others experience this? Am I inserting images incorrectly into the masks or doing the "grab and move" maneuver incorrectly? It bothers me that when I look at my layout, any masked photo that I have physically adjusted appears so differently than how it previews or saves as a .jpg.
