Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Elements 6

Hi Everyone,

I know these are really old versions but my question is is there any real difference in these two programs using them for scrapbooking?

Thanks!
Lisa

Photoshop Elements is a scaled down version of Photoshop.
Photoshop has more tools and features.
Both would work great for scrapbooking.

There are a few differences between PSCS2 and the more current PSCS6 but overall not much that someone who is just scrapbooking would notice. Even for designing I would say you are perfectly fine with CS2. I haven't used elements so I can't answer that one, sorry!

Elements ... it changes everything to a bit map, turns them into pixels ... it doesn't work in vectors so you also cannot load shapes, you have to add them to your presets, you can't create vectors and you can not create shapes. Elements does not have a warp except in text. You can't create an action or an effect in Elements either although you can use most of them and others are made just for the software. Mainly it's the upscale design features that are missing but for scrapbooking it's perfect and I find most of the designing I do can be done in it. You can get Elements 12 for less than $80 when they put it on sale and you do get a disc with that ... that's for one user though. Sign up for the Adobe alerts and you will know when the sales are on.

Thanks everyone smiley

I've been playing around for you and discovered something that is bugging me big time. I created 3 textures which appear white in photoshop but when I uploaded them to my blog they now look grey.

Have you had this trouble too Lisa? or anyone else?

Did you save them as jpegs? .... you can lose colours and add them when converting from png and psd .... did you leave your template/overlay on the lower layer when you saved? I will usually merge them before saving to make sure they still look like what I want because I still have a chance to change them if I need to. I don't usually have this problem, if I did I'd be looking at my settings when I'm saving ... maybe my blending mode changed before I saved. I tend to do that when using my mouse.

I have not ever had that problem. Maybe a color calibration issue? I've had a similar problem when going from my monitor to my printer, but never posting online. If you want to send me the files I can look at them on my monitor.
