Photoshop CS6 Font Issue

When I am typing in a text box (existing or newly created), I suppose within a template I have acquired, sometimes, if I type a number at the beginning of the line, it throws the number to the end.

Not sure how to embed it, but I took a video screenshot of it... http://www.dropshots.com/TinaShaw/date/2014-11-25/09:52:39

Don't know but that is weird .. it's the type of thing that can drive you crazy ..... one thing I do when I have a whole box of text to do is to type it into word first and paste it into photoshop ... I'm using PSE 11 .... before pasting I pick a font and size and click on the type tool and put my cursor where I want it and then paste the text into the box or layer ... it will paste in the font and size you have picked. It's so much easier than trying to type a large quantity of text into photoshop ... that's how I did these pages. You can edit it just like you would if you had typed it into photoshop first.... don't know if it will help your recipe issue but it may.

No...I did try typing it into Notepad first (Notepad strips the text of all formatting so it's only text that comes out), but that didn't help it...it still put the numbers at the end. It is weird, indeed!

Susan, where did you get the train track circle from?!?!?!? smiley My 9 year old would LOVE that!!!

Tina, i know exactly what you mean. The very same thing happened to me the other day. It has never happened to me before. what I did was to open another document, typing the exact same things in the layout I was working on, and I was able to type without a hitch. Really, really weird.

p.s.
I also use PS CS6

Thank you, Marlyn! That totally WORKED!!!! smiley

i'm glad, Tina, especially since i forgot to mention that i then copied what i've typed in the second document onto the layout i'm working on. smiley

Tina .. I created it from 2 elements given to me for the challenge over at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio site a few months ago .... I simply used the polar coordinates to make a circle of the tracks and any simple frame would do, especially if it's a metal one

Marlyn ... I've had that happen as well when I used CS4, several times in different ways .... what I found was once the software made the error ... the only way to get rid of it was to restart it to get rid of the memory of it which is what you did when you opened a new document.... I'd forgotten all about that because I've had to downgrade to PSE

I'm sure I've had that problem before and I think I solved it by changing this setting in the character palette:

Sometimes it gets set to something weird, which will but the text in weird places.

that's funny because every time I have something odd happen I usually check what's going on with settings ... I don't always find it at first either but when I do you can see me roll my eyes and shake my head and hubby asking "what now"? smiley ... I tend to talk to my software

Ha! Susan...I do, too (and it's not just the software...it's most inanimate objects! LOL!)! LOL!)!

Marisa, I tried that, but it didn't work. That was one setting I thought to check, too!

susan and tina, what a relief to know that i'm not the only one who talks to their computers. smiley

Marlyn ... you have no idea lol ... it's a joke here ... I talk to everything ..... I used to work at Walmart and had to 'zone' the toys at the end of the evening which means you go through and set everything straight so it looks good for the morning .... I used to talk to the toys telling them to stay put where they belong etc etc ... I'd turn around and there would be several other staff just standing there watching me with big smiles on their faces ...it was too funny, but I really do talk to everything around me smiley

It could have been the template and the settings for the text field. It chould have been right justified.

Susan ... my office mates have gotten used to my talking to myself and to objects although they're afraid that the items I talk to will answer me. LOL However, I find that things become clearer in my mind if I do talk out loud. smiley
