What is going on with my PScs6

Everytime a do an selection of some sort, use magic wand, make a circle selection and so on everything turns white not the hole screen but like the paper i'm working on in ps.. And it comes back when i deselect... This is stopping me from doing what i want.. How do i fix it?

I've never had this happen but it sounds like it could be a memory problem. I remember my CS6 used to get weird when my cache was full. To clear yours go to edit - purge.

Does it process changes or filters slowly? Or does it take time to apply changed or update the image?

My guess would be a memory problem too .... also check to see how much room is left on your C drive ... I find if I'm down to about 30G I start having issues.

Okey if i go into purge, what do i do next? I can only choose videocache and when i click on that nothing happens.. smiley

Everything else is working fine, and my harddrive is almost empty (the one it's running on).. And i have started my CS5 and everything worked great there smiley Hmmm...

I've tried to make a video of the problem, not a very good one but i hope you'll see the problem...
HERE

The video says it's private..
If you purge your video cache it should clear up some space. You can also check your scratch disc & make sure there is room on it. To find this go to edit - preferences - scratch discs. Make sure you have free space. I've heard it is better to use a disc that PS is not installed on.. I kept mine on my C drive b/c I have a lot of free memory there but if you don't I would switch it.
You can also check under edit - performance to see how much available RAM you have for Ps to run on.
Another thing.. when I have my graphics processor on it messes up my Ps... (I have 2 graphics cards and the one that Ps runs off of is not compatible, I need to switch them out & haven't had time to figure it out yet). Without knowing what your problem is.. it may or may not have to do with it - you could also try turning yours off. It is under Edit - performance, uncheck "Use graphics processor"
Hopefully one of these help smiley

I'm gonna try to do all that smiley I think the video is working now smiley

I don't know what i did, cause i didn't do anything but now it's working smiley Well all i did was to change the colortheme of photoshop but nothing else smiley My harddrive (C) has alot of space and it's my only SSD so i want it on that one smiley And it's not a RAM problem cause i have 16 GB and allow PS to use 12 of them smiley I truly hope this doesn't happend again cause i almost pulled my hair out of dispair smiley And i live with a computerb geak and even he couldn't find the problem smiley

Photoshop can act funny at times and for no unexplained reason. When ever you feel it is not doing as it should you may want to save your work and exit, close Photoshop. You may even want to go as far as rebooting your system. This will refresh your memory. Once this is done try Photoshop again. In most cases it takes care of the problem. Photoshop is known to be a memory hog and even when you close Photoshop it does not always release all of the memory it no longer needs.
