Any Pendergast fans?

Is anyone here a fan of Preston and Child's Pendergast book series? Have you read the most recent book, The Obsidian Chamber? I'm super curious as to what you think about it! I've got major mixed feelings....

Love Pendergast. Although I almost wonder if Preston Child are developing ghost writer like Cussler did.

believe it or not I've not read anything by Cussler yet. Not sure what you mean?...

Clive Cussler. He wrote several series of books, all but one based on National Marine Underwater Agency. You may have seen the movie Sahara? Based on one of his Dirk Pit Books. In real life, Numa looks for lost shipwrecks. They found the confederate submarine, the Hunley. Anyway, Cussler is getting older and spends all of his time working with NUMA now. He started sharing his authorship with several different authors. Over the course of several books you could see the change in writing style. Now the books are now completely written by the new authors, but will continue to carry Cussler's name until his death. This is a fairly common practice for successful authors. What did you think about the Obsidian Chamber? I have to admit, it has been a while since I read it.

I had no idea authors did that. smiley I'm not too sure P&C are doing that... but with Obsidian Chamber almost feels like it.

I'm not sure. It just seemed "off" to me. But can't really explain why. It's almost out of character for them? I'm going to read it again. I just can't buy the whole Diogenes turning over a new leaf. And Constance with her flip flopping. Neither one of them were themselves or very believable. The whole book was weird and feels like it doesn't fit.
How did you feel about it?

I would agree with you. "weird and doesn't fit" sums it up pretty well. Thats why I thought maybe a ght writer was involved. Either that or maybe P&C have out grown pendergast.

I feel stupid, but on P&C facebook page I asked them if they have people ghostwriting for them. They actually responded to me. Said good or bad it's all from them. That makes me feel better, but I hope they get back on track with the next book out in Nov. I can't wait.
I hope they never outgrow Pendergast. There's so many directions and things he could do.

Good to hear.
