Got my Printed Disney Scrapbook Today!!

I am just SOOO excited! After the months of hard work, and 90 pages in the printed book (counting the front and back covers), it was amazing to see it in print. I used Shutterfly, since they happened to be running a sale on their photo books and I got it for 45% off and they also had free shipping on orders over $30, so bought 2 books -- one for my mother (her belated Christmas present) and one for me. I even got it earlier than expected, as the delivery date was scheduled between Feb 3 & 7. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the book, as well. I had planned to use Persnickety Prints but didn't know when they would have a sale again and didn't think I could pass up Shutterfly's sale.

The only bad thing about the scrapbook is totally my fault...I should have had someone else proofread my journaling. I found at least one typo in every page that had journaling on it. Once I even misspelled my husband's name! Ah well. Live and learn.

Lisa

Wow, it seems so fun! I love the layouts of this photobook that you posted on your gallery Lisa. Having it in paper must be priceless. I´m sure your mother will love her present!

Thank you, Lorien! I can't wait for my mom to see it! She saw the pages I had done at Christmas. By then, I still had about 15 pages to do.

@Lisa: I saw several of your Disney layouts in the gallery. I'm glad to hear the album turned out so nicely. It's good to know for when I'm ready to print one. And thanks for the tip about having someone proof read before we send it to the printers. I always seem to be amazed at even using spell check how often it doesn't catch the same word typed twice next to itself or a word that got left in by accident that makes absolutely no sense at all in the sentence structure. Why DOESN'T that little red squiggly line show up when we really need it. smiley

Congratulations I know I would be super excited to get a finished product in my hand and probably would not be able to stop looking at it. I always proof read my pages a few times but I always still miss things!!. I haven't printed a book before but I am looking to do it. Has anyone out there in Australia printed a book before and where is the best place in Australia at a reasonable price with good quaily to print? Or is it better to try overseas places and pay more for shipping? Is it worthwhile to pay extra for better quaily paper or is the normal paper ok?

Hi I Think your mother is one happy mother!

One of the things about paleography is that, as a reader, I have to be ready for any type of spelling. Computers have made us way too obsessed with perfection. Don't fret over the typos, it's closer to what would have happened if you had done it by hand smiley

Wow, that is great. Working on my first book I definitely plan to print - it is a heritage book that all of us kids wrote and gave to my Mom for Christmas many years ago. I wasn't going to show anyone but decided to share it with my sister. Even though I copied the journaling of the first page to word for spell check, and still missed spelling one word right. So I am feeling pretty lucky!

@Janet: Wow, it´s so cool!

Congrats Lisa on getting your scrapbook finished and printed.
That's so exciting! smiley I'm sure your mother will love it!

I would Highly recommend Shutterfly to everyone.

The first time I saw a finished book of theirs is when my younger daughter
had one made for my older daughter's bridal shower. The book she had made
documented all the years and events of my daughter and her fiance. My older
daughter cried when she saw it! It is so beautiful and the quality and colors of
the book are perfection.

We've had a few more made for other occasions and every single one came back
beautifully done by Shutterfly....and at a good price.
