It's the little surprises...

I'm back living at home now, unfortunately, and just last weekend my parents sprung on me the fact we were doing renovations... I've had to move everything, and I mean everything, I own out of my room. I never knew 'moving' could be so stressful! I've got rid of like 20 bin bags of rubbish and old clothes, but I'm just about ready for work to begin on Monday. I've also had to design my room, which is a great challenge, although I can't say I have much experience in interior design. Still, it's all artistic, right? smiley

Hope everyone's doing ok!

xx

@Sarah: I feel bad for you. Living in the parent´s house as an adult can be really challenging, specially when our parents deceide to change things and don´t tell us, right? I remember that, when I was living with my parents, once my mom deceided my bed was "too old" and she needed to throw it away and buy another one - and I was only notified when I didn´t have a bed to sleep that night o.O The old one was perfectly fine, and buying the other was pointless, since I was planning to move as soon as I could. I used the new only for an year and a half, and the other one could have stand this time, you know? I got really mad back then.... But who knows what is on our parent´s minds when they deceide such things?

I hope it can have a good side for you - now your tidy new bedroom is ready for a new year full of happiness, and new beginnings smiley Wish you all the best!

What you've done is definitely a lot of work, but I think in the long run the you'll be happy you did it... Less to have to pick up & clean... Less to move in the future. smiley At least it was for me the first time I did what you just did (right before a move). Now the fun begins - designing/decorating your room... That actually sounds like a lot of fun to me. Maybe Pinterest will help give you some ideas if you're stumped?

I had to move back in with my parents when I was in my mid 20s to be able to afford to go back to school. In one way it was really nice to be with my family again, but the space was an issue. I wish I had the hindsight then that I have now and enjoyed the experience more rather than feel so hard done by because I had to live with my parents. I say enjoy this time because before you know it, you'll be on your own again...

I think Lizanne had a very good approach to this. You´ve gotten rid of many unnecessary things som it will be a "lighter" room", easier to clean and easier when you move out! I´m sure you´ll make it look fabulous! If you hang around this site colours and shapes are important to you so I´m sure you have an artistic touch smiley
