Lovey-Dovey... Day ;-)

Did anyone get anything special or totally unexpected for Valentine's Day?
Big surprise... Ie: engagement rings/proposals?
Gift you always wanted or didn't know you wanted until you got it? smiley

Hubby went above and beyond and was not something I had asked for... said he was kind of afraid to give it to me because I'm such a "penny pincher" LoL IT was an apple watch. eeekks!!! Although, it was actually a pic of one and a copy of the invoice of his AWESOME deal he got, in hopes I would be more happy with his waiting until just the right time. heehee He bought it on Valentine's Morning because they had the Series 1 on sale for $199 free shipping... so almost 1/2 price. I have had a minimal FitBit for about 3 years now and love love love it! But it's starting to give up the ghost earlier every few days. I was talking about buying a new one but they were $159... so I was waiting for it to completely quit. I told him he couldn't buy me anything for my anniversary or b'day... this year... LoL But I was pleased with his thoughtfulness and the fact that it only took e 18 years to train him not to buy something right away att top dollar just because everyone else is doing it. Hahaha. I'm supposed to get it on Friday... I HOPE that I like it and it does take a whole lot to learn to or use it properly... I don't like change sometimes... LoL

So, share you stories whether this V' day or another one that was especially special for you! smiley

So sweet Shawna! Jordan snuck out early and brought back some beautiful flowers and donuts, some of my favorite things smiley

well .... let me see .... hmmm .... does an appointment for my hubby's physio for his knee and trying to get back home before we got walloped with 30 cm of snow count as a valentines present ???? lol ... the present I think was just getting back in one piece with our nerves intact smiley smiley

I got nothing! Nothing! But that's okay because I wasn't expecting anything. My husband was on night shift so my two boys and I had a date night and celebrated with pizza and ice cream.

We also decided to have a frugal February - no spending on anything but necessities this month, so we can splurge a little on our anniversary next month. Fingers crossed that I get flowers and chocolates then!

I didn't get cards, flowers or chocolates this year, but my hubby took me out to a local place that was offering a special 5-course meal for Valentine's - the food was amazing... Was very thankful this restaurant was close to home given all the snow we've gotten in the past 2 weeks (over 3-1/2 feet of snow!) - a lot of times we venture pretty far out to try new places (given we're in a rural area). He also told me he'd like to get me a heart necklace of my choice (thought he was joking, but he wasn't), so I've been drooling over all the various options on Etsy (as I like custom/unique stuff). Some of the things I've been contemplating are a locket, a small hammered heart or a linked hearts necklace. My eldest made us chocolate-dipped strawberries also, which was a real nice treat. smiley

@Marisa: I know what you mean about a favorite donut... We both have different opinions... I'm a Dunkin Donuts fan and he's Krispy Kreme all the way (especially if HOT!) so I always know if he picked them up more for me or himself, depending on where he goes. haha smiley

@Susan: That's one of those times, it's the simple things (like being warm, safe, & fed) that make life with someone you love and trust the best.

@Trish: That's typically what we do... "frugal February" & save for our anniversary, so I totally understand. I wish I had two little boys to have a pizza date night with... What a beautiful and precious blessing. smiley

@Liz: The special food date sounds absolutely marvelous. When you pick one, show us a picture if you don't mind sharing it. And I am totally jealous that you have a personal "chocolate-dipped strawberry" chef in your house. smiley

OMG, Shawna! I am such a Krispy Kreme donut fan! Especially when HOT and just rolling out. They literally melt in your mouth! We just got a Walk-Ons sports restaurant in our area in the past year. I didn't know it for a while, but they serve Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding, and it is to DIE FOR. They actually make it with Krispy Kreme donuts and it has the sugar icing on it just like the donuts. My mouth is watering just thinking about it...

@Shawna: thanks! smiley Will try to remember to post the necklace I chose when we get around to it (have been bogged down with a lot of different things lately so haven't sat down w/hubby yet to help me narrow it down... lol). Yeah, my eldest took a few of the Culinary classes they offered in high school - it was really nice that he made them for us (I felt spoiled).

I got a new video card smiley and a sweet gaming headset.

@Debra: I don't know if I should tell my hubby about such a creation... He might want me to figure out how to make it! smiley smiley LoL

@Kaleena: It's the little things that count, especially when they know what it will mean to us. smiley
