No Inspiration

Hello ladies,
I haven't made a kit in a while and I think it's because I have no idea what to make or what theme to apply. I have no inspiration whatsoever smiley If you have any suggestions, or maybe somewhere where i can gather inspiration, I would be glad to hear it! smiley

Love,
Amy

Amy, have you tried doing a Google search for song lyrics? That might spark off some ideas.

I usually browse around some CU elements and materials and that usually gives me ideas. Either to use supplies I already have, or to make my own.

How about you try new things? Or old ones, like listening to a song that you haven't listened to for a long time. Maybe you can visit some places in your environment that you always wanted to check out. Or just wait. Sometimes ideas just come to you out of nothing.

Maybe you can look through your pictures that are waiting to be put in layouts and make something to work with them? I've been looking for an emergency kit for our emt/fire & police station field trips and haven't found much if you're looking for a more concrete idea.

I tend to do what Mindy suggested: Take inspiration for layouts from the picture(s) I'm going to scrap. For instance, if it's a photo of my nephew at school, I'll rummage through all my school papers and elements to see what strikes me.

If you're just designing a random kit, try Googling "scenic views" (or even winter or Christmas, since it's the current season), then find a photo that captures your attention. Pick the color palette from the photo itself and create a theme based on the photo.

I like this idea! I'm going to have to try that sometime.

Thanks, Nicole. Let me know if you ever try it. I'd be curious to see what photo you used to come up with a kit idea.

That is a great idea Vidia Jade. I do think however all designers loose their mojo now and again smiley Its getting back into it that makes the best ones. I find inspiration in day to day things...like my car breaking down or the Christmas holiday, family and friends over for dinner and long evenings in front of the tree smiley I hope you find something that works for you Amy.
