Opinions on Previews Please

If this isn't a good place for this post, feel free to move it.

I would like to ask opinions on the way I encase my journal pages, and/or their previews for sale.

Up until now I have actually used both methods, and I see others who sell journaling kits etc,
doing the same, but I am asking you guys, which way do you think is better.

I have attached a photo example of a current kit I am working on, in the example there are 2 designs, each showing a page With a border which contains my copyright info, and the other which is a full page with No border.

Or see the full inage HERE

To make this clearer, let me separate this question in to 2 parts.

Part ONE: When I package the kit into a zip file, do you think it best to include the bordered pages with logo etc (they would have to cut the border out like they would a pocket card etc), or to just include the full pages with no borders.

Part TWO: Do you think when previewing the kits with the border around them will confuse lookers into thinking the entire page needs to be cut away from the border. (if the above answer to ONE is NO BORDER)

Any of you who purchase ready made journal pages etc, which do you usually prefer.

I do add my logo and copyright to the pocket and card pages since they need to be cut out anyway.

I don't normally bother to make pdf's for these type of kits, unless asked specifically, generally because I have had people tell me in the past they prefer the jpegs for resizing easier, which is fine by me.

Thanks for any responses

No opinions from the Peanut Gallery?

would really like some convo here, it feels really lonely when you need an oppinion.

I have never actually used these so have not seen many hon

I think for a preview, it should include the border. But the actual page they will use, no border. Does that help?

yes, thank you for responding.

@Angela: Sorry I just saw your post...
I, too don't really use the full printable journaling pages since I buy premade journals and then just decorate with embellies and words, etc
I do agree though with the above comments that your preview to kind of protect yourself should have the border with you info as owner... but maybe to make it easier for your clients just make the downloadable files without it.
It is quieter lately in the forums so I do sometimes miss posts when looking through. Sorry again sweetheart.

Funny, I am here late too.
Hey thanks for the comment, I think you are right. I just know people are so funny sometimes, and tend to not think to far ahead. I am sometimes guilty too. If I see something I am not sure about, description is confusing, or whatever, I tend to walk away, rather than take the time to ask questions about the product lol.... Just did not want others to feel the same....

I suppose just a simple, border is for preview purposes only would be sufficent smiley

yep... very late... it's about 3:30am on the east coast... but it's already a stressful week... prepping for the hurricane but really hoping it stays out and doesn't come back inland. Lot of my family lives in FL and I live on the coast of SC. It tore up the Bahamas... they will be a while in devastation and recovery.

Hi Angela,
perhaps you should add a watermark to your preview ... just in case? You can point out in the description that it is on the preview only and of course not on the downloadable file.

I agree with Gonda !! Put a big watermark across it saying "Preview" and include your logo & copyright info in it too, so it will not be useable like that, if that makes sense 😉
