PRAYERS PLEASE

Hello everyone!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Robyne' I have been a digital scrap kit designer for about 4 and 1/2 years now, and a CU/CU4CU maker for around a year now. I have also been an uploader here at DigitalScrapbook.com for around 2 years now. I have found DigitalScrapbook.com to be an amazing little family of designers and friends. Unfortunately, I have bad news. I got the worst news of my life, I have bladder cancer. I am undergoing chemo treatments right now, and they have plans to do surgery and radiation after. I do not have insurance, and am the single mom of 2 special needs children. This has been a huge impact financially here, and I am barely scraping by. Last month, I was not able to get my chemo or my prescription meds. I know God is good and he will make a way for me....I have faith. I am writing to ask you all to please add me and my children to your prayers....pray that I can somehow beat this cancer, and that somehow someway I can afford my treatments and meds, while still being able to provide for my children. Thank you all so much

SO sorry to hear this, Robyne! smiley You definitely have my prayers!

Thank you so much Thani smiley

We will keep you and your family in our prayers Robyne. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Thanks so much Marisa smiley

I'm sorry to hear about your news. I hope you have someone able to help you with your children. Every survivor has their own story. My MIL survived breast cancer and she said the biggest help was keeping a positive attitude and knowing that she WILL beat it and not let it beat her. It's good you have faith. My best friend survived cancer and for her she listed her faith in & relationship with God as the top reason for being able to survive. One day you will have your own story. For now I pray you will have strength to deal with all of your situation. smiley {{{ hugggsss }}} smiley

Thank you so much Jessica...hearing those survivor stories is very inspiring...I do hope to have a story one day that will inspire others with their fight as well smiley

Prayers for you and your special children, Robyne. My best friend beat breast cancer at age 42, and my mother in law beat it while in her early 70's and is now 81 and cancer free. These trials and tribulations made us all closer in many ways and caused us to find God's blessings in everything. Take care of yourself and let others help. God uses other people to bless us. {{{{{Robyne!}}}}}

Thank you so much Debra smiley My mom has passed, my grandparents are deceased, my dad was never around, and my husband was murdered back in 2006...so I do not have close family or anyone to really help...and I am all my kids have, so I am fighting this with everything I have smiley

I am SO sorry that you have already lost so many close relatives in your life. I lost three of my grandparents before I graduated high school. Church offices can usually provide a list of all locally available community services that may be able to assist you in some way. I would think that the American Cancer Association or a place online like Cancer Care (cancercare.org) would be able to help you find resources in your local area. Any support groups in your area should be able to give you a list of resources also. Take care of yourself.

will include you and your family in my prayers, Robyne.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children Robyne.

Thank you very much ladies smiley

You are in my prayers.

Robyne: Check out what hospitals in your area are the ones that provide treatment for the uninsured. Also see which of them are part of the Hill-Burton Hospital Program--hospitals that get construction money from the government are required to provide some services to cancer patients who aren't able to pay for their own care. Some states have Medicaid funding for cancer patients as well--all states have to cover breast/cervical/ovarian, but some cover more types...and, frankly, you'll probably need to see the county human services people anyway, since you really won't be able to work whilst dealing with chemo and the associated nausea and fatigue, so you'll probably end up qualifying under a medically needy provision anyway. Again, how much that covers varies by state, but it's something you should at least look into.

I'll keep you in my thoughts. My HS friend's father passed away last year from bladder cancer, but it was his second bout, and he had 8 years of remission in between. Hopefully they've found yet another breakthrough since then--there's a lot of research being done. smiley

And I'll second "Stay positive." It makes a huge difference in both your survival rate and your quality of life while you're dealing with treatment.
