Rebel Wilson's "Victoria Secret" outfit

What do you think about Rebel Wilson's " Victoria Secret" outfit at the MTV Movie Awards? I personally think it was brilliant. I love that women are starting to stand up and let everyone know that they aren't ashamed not to be a size 2.

I know she's trying to make a positive statement about body image, and I applaud her for that. I just think that there will be some sort of back-lash from it and I hope she won't have to appologize to " save face".

I don't know who she is so had to google her .... personally I think she has taken women back a few steps .... I wouldn't want anybody wearing that .... I don't care if they are a size 0 .. whatever that's supposed to be ... lets start dressing ourselves again and not leaving just everything out for all to see .... no wonder our young girls don't know how to leave the house without being dressed like a hooker ... that's my rant for today smiley

Oh dear...

While I admire her self-confidence, and her message - like Susan, I don't want to see anyone wearing that outfit. It's just plain awful, in my opinion.

Susan and Robyn , I do agree that the outfit was not appropriate for everyday wear. I think women, especially our young ones, need to be a bit more conservative than they are now. This outfit was only to make a statement about the Victoria Secrets ads in which stick thin models parade down the runway in undergarments, high-heals, and angel wings.

I didn't watch it but there was a news item on my yahoo page about it. I don't think it's going to get the kind of response she wanted. It will be talked about for a few days and then it will fade away. I don't believe anything real will come of it.

I think the message she was trying to get across was awesome. Not all women (in fact very few) actually look like the models used in the Victoria Secret commercials. Unfortunately, girls get the idea that they have to be some version of this "perfect" size woman, or they are fat. Body dysmorphia and eating disorders are also on the rise....this is becoming a real issue here in the U.S.

Rebel had this to say about her motive for wearing this outfit: “I think one of the good messages in the movie is that you’re all beautiful. I think sometimes girls look at Victoria’s Secret models and think that they have to model themselves after that, but I really don’t think that’s the best, even though they are called ‘models,’ they’re not the best people to model yourself after. I like to encourage girls to think, which is why I put that on my butt. It’s really about what’s up here [points to head], and not whats here [points to backside].” (MTV NEWS ONLINE, 2015).

I hope that people focus on the message behind the outfit, and not the raciness or revealing nature of the outfit. She had a good message. I am sure she will get a lot of backlash...but if she has helped one teen girl feel better about herself, and more comfortable in her own skin...and to realize she does not have to be "perfect" to be beautiful...then it was worth it. My 2 cents smiley

I loved it smiley

Robyne, I agree with you completely. I thought it was wonderful and I hope that the message gets across to as many women as possible. Especially the young ones, but I know some " mature" women how could really benefit from it as well.

I agree with the message, but the outfit..... no.
