saying goodbye to scrapbook workshops (for now)

I just signed up for computer classes. Unfortunately the schedule is every Saturday, which is usually when scrapbook workshops at Lasting Impressions (instructor prepares a kit which introduces to products) are held.

I miss the interaction and learning from others the most (as well as learning about new techniques).
We would all share the same long table and wait our turn for the shared punchers, paints etc.

I know most of you started off as paper scrappers, don't you miss getting together with other scrappers? Or have you found an alternative to that?

Oh my gosh AD! Never knew that you know Kath Hernandez! So cool!

I went only to a paper scrap meeting (we call them crops here, IDK if you do it too) during my paper scrapper times, and I still go to the conventions when I have time, and chat to paper scrappers that I met in a Brazilian forum through Facebook. But what I really do in my digiscrapper life that is similar to those meetings are the speed scraps that are held on chatrooms thoughout the internet. I LOVE them. And, of course, being active in three or four forums, we get new friends, learn about people´s life, read awesome advice, start following people´s galleries, and so on...

I'm still active in the paper scrapping. I can't leave the tangibility of it, plus my hubby is artistic (paints, draws, creative with his hands & musical) so I enjoy that immensely as a past time with him. smiley Me and hubby still go to craft shows... stamping and scrapping conventions. We hope to get to go see Tim Holtz with Stampers anonymous in Atlanta, Ga if we can afford the trip to the stamping convention in October. smiley I'm so glad my husband likes arts! smiley

I've never done paper scrapping, just dabbled in a bit of cardmaking - but I do have a HUGE stash from that! I'll have to get back into it some time. Don't know when, though. I've just started to get back into my crochet; I have a beautiful afghan I'm working on for my daughter, all in purple, lilac and magenta. So much to do, so little time!
