Stamps. What are they and how do you use them?

I see these and would love to download them but I don't know what they are or how to use them. Can you help me?

If you're talking about the stamps at PS such as these;

You'll notice the download info states that it has an ABR file, that is a Photoshop brush file. So then that file would be loaded into Photoshop as a brush and then those images would be for use via the brush tool. There are also PNGs included with the download so they can be used in other programs, but all I am very familiar with is using brushes in Photoshop.

Brushes are basically like a stamp in RL. You choose an image, and click, and it is like you took a stamp dipped it in ink and stamped the paper. I am sure someone else can explain it in much better terms than I did though. smiley

Cool thank you for the info.

Another tip: make sure you've selected the colors you wish the stamp to be (background & foreground), in your materials palette, before "stamping" with the brush so it turns out the way you want it. smiley

I use the PNGs that come in the file a lot as well. I find it a bit easier to browse them in my computer explorer, and then just drag them onto the canvas I'm working with. It's a bit more of a pain to recolor, but....

Thanks ladies for helping me with this.
