too hard to navigate

my posts keep getting locked, and people are apparantly responding to me in places I never see.

I was told I got a response to something from a week ago, but fact is I am getting lost.
There are no thread watching, altho I have no idea what hearting a thread does, I thought it was like watching a thread, but it isnt.

everything seems to get lost in the mix to me here

sorry if you all think I am not following the rules, I read them 2 times, and thought I was. maybe best not to post
as I do not want anyone else thinking I am a troublemaker

sorry, really very sorry... this will probably get locked to smiley

Hello Angela!

About posts getting locked, I locked two of them yesterday by duplicity. I usually write a message on the post before locking with the reasons why I did it. Duplicated posts also get archived sometimes, to avoid unnecessary forum pollution. And topics that are out of the right forum are moved, usually with a notice in the original forum they were in. And topics with unclear subjects have their subjects changed. You can track which person of the DigitalScrapbook.com moderaton team did this by seing on the first post. It will appear like edited by *user name with profile link*. By the way, I´ll reply to your private message very soon.

This topic, for example, should be on Community Suport forum, because it refers to a issue you are having in browse the forums. Or I understand the topic in wrong way? I just won´t move it right now because you said you´re confuse, but I´lll do it as soon as you see your message.

The chit chat forum is for posts that are not related to the digiscrap world or to what happen to DigitalScrapbook.com. If you are posting questions or tips about a specific software, it should be on software specific questions and any other topic about digiscrap which the main inttention isn´t promote yourself or your work should be placed on Digital Scrapbook Discussion forum, even it being directed to designers or digiscrappers.

We also ask to only open a topic when there isn´t any topic related to it that are already opened, not to answer too many topics in a row, and not open new topics too often.

Do you (or anyone else) have any more questions?

It´s not like we don´t want you, or whoever else, to jump in and talk about what are on their minds or show their work. But in a community with almost 73k members (yes, you heard it right) it´s very easy to make a mess where no one will find helpful topics when they are needed. We love your posts, we just think that the can be useful to other people if they´re placed on the right forums or threads.

Angela, thread watching is automatic to ones you've participated in, and if you'll look up at the upper right of the page next to where your download credits are shown, there's a little talk bubble. It will gain a pink dot with a number in it when there are new replies to threads you've replied to before.

The forums layout is fairly organized, if you look at the high-level sections.
-Chit Chat is non-digiscrap specific, mostly just other random stuff like talking about what kind of food you like or what TV shows you watch.
-Digital Scrapbooking Discussion is all about digiscrap--everything from the best program or how to do something in that program to what kind of kits you'd like to see.
-PixelScrapper Blog Trains has the palette/theme selection, working threads, download threads, and comment threads for the monthly blog train.
-Design Challenges has challenge threads for both creating layouts and creating papers and elements.
-Community Support has site feature requests, questions about the site, a place to post if we're having problems with it, etc.
If you can figure out which of those basic categories what you're looking for (or planning to post) belongs to, it's pretty easy to navigate from there.

Lorien, I just responded to you in email.

Holly, yes I know, but it is not the same as watching, as I just explained to Lorien in the email I just wrote her, I spent almost 10 minutes looking for a thread link to send her, with no luck, and if hearting a thread were truly the same thing, which it is not, I would have found it, and in less than 20 seconds.

Anyway, sorry about the little rant, it has been a horrible week here, I have felt completely sick and awful, and the weekend does not look like it is going to be any better for me in the real world, so I am sorry for my little hissy fit.

Sounds like a suggestion for a Site Feature request is in order, then!! smiley

I hope you feel better soon. Feeling ill or being in pain are all-too-common states of life for me with 3 chronic medical issues, so I've gotten used to it, but I remember what life used to be like before all this and how I used to grumble if a flu laid me out for 3-4 days. It was miserable, and even worse when it made me miss out on fun plans like barbecues or beach trips or going dancing. So...little rant taken with grain of salt or two. smiley
