I mostly read Young Adult books for our library at work (we don't have a librarian, so I sort of took over the responsibility for choosing the books for the library). I'm currently reading The Enchantress, the last in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott, and just finished The Iron Knight, the last in The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. My favorite YA author is Sharon M. Draper, who I had the privilege of meeting a couple of years ago at a conference I went to.

In the "adult" realm of literature, I like reading mysteries, romances (contemporary and historical), true crime stories, etc. I'm NOT a big fan of nonfiction, though, other than the true crime type books. Favorite authors include Nora Roberts and James Patterson (for both his adult and YA books).

I love The Nicholas Flamel series, I'm on the 2nd one! I read books from every genre and age group because I like reading but I do love YA books quite a bit.

I am currently rereading a good number of my Nora Roberts books. I love everything that she writes but my favorites are her romantic/suspense that she writes now. I love a good Nora Roberts any day of the week.

I am currently reading [ Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Just began.

I have been reading quite a lot lately. I read Dean Koontz 77 Shadow Street. I was very disappointed, not his usual style and I didn't enjoy it very much. I now have a Kindle so I have read a couple of the free ones and bought a couple. I started going down the list of free books and then realised it was impossible - there are so many! Just bought A Laird for All Time and Island of Secrets: A Time Travel, Gothic Romance. The one I am reading now is fairly okay, it is a time travel story with Meg and her daughter landing in 13 Century Wales. I'll let you know if she get's home!

I've now started reading the Robert Crais - Elvis Cole series and am on book 2, Stalking the Angel. They're pretty good. I don't know that there are too many private detectives out there that have cartoon character clocks on their walls and cartoon items on their desks in the office, but then, I've never met a private detective, to my knowledge. LOL

@Heather "I'm reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I'm on book four. Still so many to go."

I have read all those except the last one just released. I love her books. Have you read her other series also? They are pretty good too. I watched several seasons of True Blood (based on her books) but it got so far off from her storyline I lost interest.

@Jacinta "Lionheart by Sharon Kaye Penman

Sharon Kaye Penman is one of my favourite authors, she writes historical fiction and her "era of choice" is the Plantagenet era of the English Monarchy (Henry II to Richard III) so there is over 400 years of material for her to work with."

I absol. love her writing. I read all her books oh about 10 years ago (about) My BA is in medieval history and the Plantagenet monarchy were one of my all tie favs! How cool!

@Bonnie

Great to link up with you on Goodreads and so cool that we share a love of those Plantagenets - what a family!

I have finally managed to finish Lionheart last night. My commitments at work at the moment have left little time for quiet reading time and scrapping which is absolutely no fun at all. (Actually that's not right, I do enjoy my work so long days at the office aren't that awful).

Waiting now for the second instalment of Richard I's story. SKP is currently scrambling to have it finished in time for her publisher.

I have the pleasure, at present, of being deep into Budgeting Concepts for Nurse Managers... sigh...

Just finished The Red House by Mark Haddon which I did not like much (shame - I liked his others). What am I reading now? The Pixelscrapper August bookclub choice of course - Wicked by Gregory Maguire!

Just finished an audio book by an Australian author, Jasper Jones. I spend a couple of hours a day in the car these days and am putting the driving time to good use.

Beautifully written and set in a regional town in Western Australia in 1965. Highly recommended.

Everyone is reading such a wonderful selection of books smiley

I love to loose myself in a book, over the years have read an eclectic mix and my bookcase is a real mix including thrillers, horror, true stories and quite a few children's books.

Am just about to start The Life Of Pi - Yann Martell which I was given and want to read before I watch the film x

Oh, Heather, Life of Pi is one of my favorite books. It makes you think but you enjoy the process. smiley

I just finished A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. It's YA, and really really well-done. An emotional heart-string tugger, but handled really well.

I'm reading The Little Book of Talent, which I would recommend to anyone looking for a boost in creativity.

Since I don't have much time right now to get into a new book, I'm rereading a nice fav... the Fifty Shades trilogy smiley I can't wait for the movie, tho I hope they do it justice. They have me worried on who they'll cast.

Have you finished this yet? I have not heard of this before and love all that Pope Francis is doing thus far in his papacy. I would be curious to hear your thoughts!

I am not a huge fan of sitting and reading (never mind my English degree...), but have been loving audiobooks on the overdrive app. i just finished The Hunger Games trilogy and am currently listening to The BFG by Roald Dahl with my kids and Inside Scientology by Janet Reitman.

At the moment, I am into Hobbit (J.R.R.Tolkien). Also I am a huge fan of Stephen King. But the book that left a most powerfull impression on me is The Eight by Katherine Neville.

@Megan, if you are looking for good audiobooks to share with the family, try the Mysterious Benedict Society. It's a juvenile series and ABSOLUTELY delightful. The reader is fantastic and the stories are so fun & sweet. The humor in them reminds me a little of Dahl.

Books on scrapbooking ideas. Right now "Life artist" by Ali Edwards. Also mystery romances are relaxing for me. The saddest and yet most inspiring book I've ever read, I finished a few days ago. "Into the Deep." I cried most of the way through it so I don't think I would choose a sad book very often.

I'm currently reading a Agatha Christie novel called The Body in the Library. And I just finished a John Grisham book called The Racketteer. Two of my fav authors. Different but so enjoyable. @ Heather Neal: I'm going to see if I can find Cinder

I really enjoy both John Grisham and Agatha Christie novels. Right now am in the middle of Francine River's "Leota's garden. It's for a book club at church and the characterization is fab.

I've put Leota's Garden on my to read list. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm currently going through some Janet Evanovich novels...trying to figure out what to read next.

Game of Thrones - Book 2 - Clash of the Kings

Right now... just started on the 5th book in the Elvis Cole series by Robert Crais.

I'm finishing up next month's book club read for my village group - the things I do
for those girls!!! So far I have only liked 1 out of 6 books!! This one is no better for me - Sue Townsend - Queen Camilla. It's an absurd farce and not to my taste at all. Only 150pages left to go!!

I just started Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly. It is free for Kindle right now.

Just finished Graceling, and then Fire. Both by Kristen Cashore. I put reviews below.

Graceling Review

Fire Review

A book in swedish about landscaping and garden designs. I would love to work in that area!
