What is one subject in high school or college that you wish you could retake over for a higher grade?

Seems like a simple question, but it is a time to reflect on your academics! Personally, I wish I could take Algebra back over because I did not do so well. I remember wondering if that subject was even necessary because I will not have time to do Algebra in the grocery store. Now, I realized that it was in fact an important subject. It focused on solving equations (the variables) and actually when you are trying to solve a problem that deals with numerals you do use some form of Algebra. For example: 100 + x = 125 (solve for x). Actually, it is asking you what number added to 100 will make 125.

I did really well in high school without too much effort, but I wish I could do a some of my university courses over though. I wish I could do first year chemistry, first year linear algebra, and anthropology over. I was lazy (and/or exhausted) and only did enough to pass, but I think I could have learned some really interesting stuff if I had actually put some effort into those courses.

I actually did really good in High School that I didn't needed to make up any credits, I actually went over 20 points smiley
I needed 220 to graduate and I got 240, not bad I think! ^_^

I wish I could redo all 4 years of high school, well it took me 5 technically haha. I was bullied really bad my first 2 years of high school and it had a really bad impact on me, so bad that I only passed 2 classes in 2 years and had 0.67 grade point average. My first year of high school I missed about 100 of the 180 required days. Luckily in 2005 my dad started dating someone (who is now my stepmom and biggest supporter) and we moved about an hour away from where I grew up so I was able to get a completely fresh start. I managed to graduate with a 2.8 so that's quite the improvement but I still wish I had done more and worked harder those last 3 years.

They say that education is wasted on the youth. As an adult, and a homeschooling mom, I totally get that statement. History came alive for me when I started homeschooling my kids years ago, and I continue to enjoy it and read about it. Ironically, in high school, the worst grade I got was in a history class!

Well I would like to redo English. I did pass it but it was my lowest mark! ...I can't understand that because it was the subject I was best at. I got higher pass marks in French and geography than I did for English and I can't understand why ...I can't speak a word of French and missed most of the classes (I failed all the way through until THE final exam). And geography was my next great overall failure ...I even missed answering an entire compulsory section in the exam which made up almost half the marking points! (That's because we didn't even cover what was included in the school year!) So WHY WHY was my English mark lower than those two?!

World history in high school, though I got straight-A's. I don't feel like I learned much. I would like to re-do the reading aspect of the Mythology course I took in college. I was so overwhelmed by the "deep thoughts" of the professor and the English majors in the class, that I really didn't comprehend much of it. I should've just done the reading and enjoyed it instead of trying to grasp the weird esoteric thoughts they all had!

I would love to redo French. I passed most of my French classes with Cs and Bs, though I know the last one I got on a solid foundation of short skirts and lowcut tops. Knowing what I know now about my style of lingual acceptance, though... I could have done really well and have a much more solid grasp on the French language than I do. I spent so much time translating from English to French and from French to English that I really crippled my ability to 'get' the language on a basic level. If I knew then to just think instead of translating I'd be trilingual instead of bilingual, which bums me out!

I have always found certain areas of maths hard to grasp,
no problem with all the basics but would still love one day to understand algebra etc too and improve on my grades.

math. all of math.

I *really* wish I could re-take Spanish. Not so much for a higher grade, but I live in New Mexico, and a lot of people here either speak English as a second language, or not at all. I can't tell you how many times when working I've had to use one of the few sentences I know well to ask someone to please wait a moment while I found someone kind enough to translate for me. Had I known I would need it in the real world so badly, I would have paid much closer attention and tried much harder.

I did redo when I was 51 ... I had to update my math and sciences and what that fun ....and science was NOT a subject I was good in the first time around .... second time around I aced it, then went on to college
