Aussie accent, British postcode & thousands of photos!

Hello there everyone! I saw all the hellos on this page and thought I'd add my own thread...

I was born in Melbourne, Australia & grew up there until, at 40 years old, I decided to change my life and move to the UK - after 6 years as a nanny, caring for several families and loving life in London, I started dating a friend whom I'd met 4 years earlier and voila! Now I am living in Stoke-on-Trent & working as a Children's and Family Outreach worker with the Methodist Church & taking photographs at a rate of speed that I cannot keep up with when it comes to journalling and preserving my photos in a meaningful way!

Although I've been scrapping for 17 years, I am new to the world of electronic scrapping! I am hungry to learn & eager to get going on my many hundreds of photos!!

I love children (always working with them) photography, history (hence I love the UK) friends, family, books, sci fi, films & TV & lots of other things besides!

My 5 nieces and nephews live in Australia, my 2 God sons live in Nevada, USA & my friends cover several countries and continents - I am always making new friends, too! Maybe someone reading this is a kindred spirit... believe me, I've made so many friends in the most unlikely of circumstances that it's quite possible I'll make some life-long friends on here!

I love crafts of other kinds as well - so pop by and tell me what you enjoy, where you're from & what you love about this craft in particular & say hello!

Welcome to DigitalScrapbook.com, Meredith! I'm an Aussie, too, from Gympie in Queensland, but with a strong affiliation to Scotland (although I have, sadly, never been there) as my parents emigrated to Australia from Scotland in the early 1950s.

You're going to love DigitalScrapbook.com - the people here are so friendly and helpful, and the community as a whole is so warm and welcoming. Have you read the site manifesto yet? It really illustrates just why this site is so different to every other digiscrapping site out there!

Once again, welcome!

Welcome Meredith! Glad to have you here!

Hi Robyn, It's wonderful to meet a fellow Aussie on here! My Dad & his family also migrated to Australia from the UK in the early 50s... It was whilst visiting his cousins that I met my partner, Graham & in the weird and wonderful way that life works out, sometimes, I now live a short walk from the street which my Dad grew up on!! If you wrote it in a book people would say it was far fetched!

Marisa, Thank you! I have lurked for a while, but I'm so glad I started engaging... this does seem like a special place to share ideas & techniques... You have created a lovely community here!
