Craft artist 2 is all i have got!

smiley

I have been looking on this site for some time now. I mainly do card making but would love to get into scrap booking. I have downloaded a few free kits for me to have a try. I do not have most of the programmes you ladies use I only have craft artist 2. Will these kits work with this programmes please.

Thank you for the kits that you all produce and kindly give for free.

Any help or information would be great.

Pat, I have Craft Artist installed, but have never used it, so I'll have to try it out to see if resources from this site will work on it. If they don't, some DigitalScrapbook.com members use a free program called GIMP, which seems to have similar functionality to Photoshop/Photoshop Elements. It's available for download at:

There are some tutorials here, and lots more available online. (Just Google it, and you'll find lots.)

Thanks for your reply. I will try out gimp. Thanks for your help.

Pat, I've been without phone and internet all day, so I couldn't get back to you sooner. I actually have Craft Artist Compact, and I was able to use the Insert Photo > From File command to import assets etc from DigitalScrapbook.com, so you would be able to use yours. How basic it would be from a scrapbooking design point of view, I couldn't say, but you would be able to give it a go, anyway.

Hi Pat,
I only ever use Craft Artist. I love it and it is pretty easy to import other kits besides the kits from Daisy Trail. The difference being the files from Daisy Trail are 'pack 'files' - You need to download the 'zip' files and then unzip them to bring the contents into Craft Artist via the digi kit creator (under tools)
You should find this link very helpful.

These videos are also fabulous tutorials -

Thanks for that, sorry reply is so late, just seen your message lol!

Apologies to you as well for late answer, thank you. I can do some things with cap2 but understand what you are saying.

I use Serif Craft Artist, and the kits I download work perfectly. I download the kits into my pictures file on my computer. When in craftartist I can use the elements from the kits the same way I use any picture.

Hi Pat, I use CA all the time. It is a wonderful program for me as I tried to use Photoshop many times and gave up. Just make sure you download your dt kits into the special section in documents called my digikits and then you will be able to install them. They do install directly into CA so you don't have to bother with making a new digikit each time. The kits you get from Pixel will work with CA you just have to go to tools them digikit creator and add the kits. it is really easy to do. So yes, please get the wonderful kits from here and put them into CA and have fun.

Hi Rachel, I use CA also. This program has a special feature called digikit creator. This feature allows you to make your own digikit or bring in items from other site. It is easy to use. go to tools > digikit creator. You will find on the left hand side a listing....embellishments, backgrounds, frames etc. Just click on the category you want to add say embellishments and then on the bottom right you will see import. just click on that and find your file and it will bring it in for you. Try it...it is much easier then bringing in things through photos and the bonus is you will have all your scrapping items in one place ready to use. I hope this helps.
