A Few Questions From a Newbie

Hi. I have a few questions.

First, I placed two separate orders for freebies, received the order receipt and the download links. However I had to stop downloading before I finished the second order. Now I can't seem to find my order history information and links location so that I can finish downloading. Could someone let me know where to find this information?

Secondly, I am new and downloaded my free kit. I also, as stated above, downloaded bunches of free items without limitations. In addition to my daily 5, I also earned download credits for forum activity, filling out my profile, etc. I used most of those credits to download individual elements and templates but no kits. I then joined the all commercial use access program, understanding I can only download 5 kits a day for the first six months. However when I tried to download a second kit, I received an error message saying I had reached my limit for today. Do freebies and individual elements and templates purchased with DC's count as kits?

Lastly, I placed a front page DigitalScrapbook.com Button Link on my web site, as well as a link in a post. Do I need to let someone know I did this so I receive the community points for having done so? http://wingedheartohio.blogspot.com

Thanks in advance for helping me. I'll get the hang of things after a while!

Sally

Hello Sally!

It seems, by your message, that our site may be have some technical issues. I just have asked Jordan, our webmaster, to take a look at your post.

Thanks so much for becoming a patron!

Hi Sally, sorry for the trouble you've experienced, and thanks for being a member of our community! I've just sent you an email attempting to address your questions. If you need further help, please reply to the email.

Hi Jordan and thanks for your reply. I go read the email. I do have another question, though. Do freebie downloads count toward the 5 kits a day download quota?

@Sally: individual graphic downloads do not count towards the 5-kits-per-day limit. However, every kit in a bundle does count as an individual kit (so if you download every kit in a large bundle, that will use up your limit for the day). Does that make sense?

I understand about the 5-kits-per-day limit. However, it seems that individual graphic downloads are counting toward the limit. Today I downloaded 5 things (plus 4 re-downloads for a kit I cannot locate on my computer) and one of them was just a single brad template. When I went to download what I thought was a 5th item, I received the error message that I had used my 5 downloads so the brad template did count. I also know that I can't use the direct links for blog train offerings without them counting as one of my 5 downloads. I'm sorry to be such a bother, but I am a little confused about what does and does not constitute one of my daily downloads.

Hi Sally, I wanted to tell you that you aren't alone! I also have had individual elements/graphic downloads count towards my daily 5 kit limit! I thought maybe I was crazy but sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't! It must be a glitch in certain items. There were also times that I downloaded only 2 or 3 kits and received the 5 kit limit message.

@Sally, Erin: Thanks a lot for reporting the issue. After looking into this, I can confirm that individual graphic downloads are not affecting the kits-per-day download limit... those downloads are not even considered for the kits-per-day check.

However, I did find an issue where re-downloading kits WAS sometimes counting towards the kits-per-day limit, which was probably causing the confusion. That should now be resolved, so please let me know if you run into this issue again. smiley

To Sally, Erin (and anyone else with problems)

Any time things seem to be acting a little strangely, do make sure that you report it - if Jordan doesn't know about it, he can't fix it! I recently had issues trying to upgrade my PU subscription to a CU subscription and, in my opinion, Jordan went "above and beyond" in fixing my issues. I'm now happily using my upgraded subscription, and it's all thanks to him.
