notifications

I'm not a very frequent visitor here anymore, maybe once a week now, instead of what used to be daily.
I logged in today and I had 85 notifications! That's ridiculous....can I turn off notifications altogether, or maybe just for certain things? If so, how do I go about that?

Hi Rose, there was a recent glitch in our notification system, which caused many older posts to rise to the top of notifications, which was an error.

I apologize for that, and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We'll try to make sure that doesn't happen again.

You can mark all your notifications read to easily get rid of all of them at once:

In the future we would love to also implement more controls for users about what kind of notifications they get.
