I'm a forty- something single Mom of a precocious little boy I call the Rascal. I'm also a full-time Middle School teacher. I love the digital age, which is why I chose digital scrap-booking over the traditional medium - less mess to clean up and more chance that my collection will get and stay organized! I don't find enough time for this hobby, but I keep trying.
I send my own cards through sendoutcards.com. So, when I turned 40, I knew that I was going to be sending out a bunch of cards to all those people my age also turning 40 that year! I also threw myself a big party.
I took several photos of the flowers from the party - that's the photo part of this project - and filtered them until I had "the shot" I wanted for the card. Then I played around with cut-and-copy, layers, filters, etc. until I had the "40th" hovering over the top of the photo. I can't tell you exactly how I did it, only that it included many layers and plenty of filtering until I was happy!
Then I uploaded it to the website and sent it out a few dozen times that year.
[name], They say that the forties are all about empowerment...I hope that you feel empowered to continue to impact so many people...as a mom, as a friend, and as a woman with experience! Happy Fabulous Fortieth Birthday! Love, Jody
