I'm a freelance editor, writer and photographer. I picked up cardmaking as an art hobby more than 25 years ago. That led to scrapbooking, but really took off when digital scrapbooking software started popping up on the market. It dovetailed well with my career and has sparked an interest in developing skills as a graphic designer. You all are so talented; you inspire me! I live in the beautiful state of Montana where I work from home and volunteer for a local non-profit called the Dylan Steigers Concussion Project. Besides a passion for photography, I love sports, flyfishing, cardmaking, gardening, and walking my favorite beagle. My goal is to become better at making digital content rather than using what others have created so I can give back to this wonderful community of scrapbookers.
My daughter and her friend scored tickets to the 2012 semifinal at American Idol, season 11. I loved the lines in Merisa Lerin's layout template 04. For this scraplift, I wanted to do a minimally embellished layout, but wanted to do a pattern of some sort, and this template fit the bill. I adjusted the layout by erasing some objects, adding a few more on different layers, and enlarging two of them to accommodate two photo masks, but still keeping the diagonal look. I used a painted grunge border by justjaimee.com as a base, then added my own to work with this specific layout. This is the first page in a two-page spread.
