About Me
I'm a freelance editor, writer and photographer. I picked up cardmaking as an art hobby more than 25 years ago. That led to scrapbooking, but really took off when digital scrapbooking software started popping up on the market. Thanks to PixelScrapper, I have honed my design skills and do some small design jobs for hire, along with my regular editing and writing. I live in the beautiful state of Montana where I work from home and volunteer for a local non-profit called the Dylan Steigers Concussion Project. I also teach water aerobics at our local Women's Club. (Otherwise, I might sit on the couch all day designing!). Besides a passion for photography, I love sports, flyfishing, cardmaking, gardening, and walking. My goal is to try to learn a new technique or enhance existing ones every month so I can give back to this wonderful community of scrapbookers through the PS blog trains.

When I first heard this song by Miranda Lambert, I immediately thought of this house where I grew up. And I get choked up every time I hear it, too, because it reminds me of many, many good times I had growing up in my childhood home. I put the lyrics next to this photo for that reason. While the part about being broken and healing doesn’t apply to me, every other part of the song seems to echo my feelings about growing up and moving away from my hometown in 8th grade when I really didn’t want to leave the place where 6 older brothers and sisters grew up and graduated from school. When I visited friends there in 2013, I knocked on the door of my house, and the couple that lives there graciously gave me the house tour—I spent an hour and a half there! They are the nicest folks!! And they did a fabulous job of refurbishing the house to better than it ever was! I was so grateful for their time and am happy that they love my house now as much as I did growing up there. Now we are FB friends. How cool is that? Some of the elements I used: Marisa’s Versailles alpha for the title (except for the “me” font I grabbed from my font list), Janet Scott’s butterfly border and Be Mine Painted Heart template.
