Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
This was my first scraplift attempt. I found it interesting. Thought it was going to be more difficult to come up with what I was going to do. I started by jotting down what things I liked about the challenge lay-out, what things I saw. Then I realized that I had hit on 3 or 4 things that I could do to mimic, then I found photos...which was a little harder to do, since we just aren't taking the amount of photos we used to.
My biggest point of inspiration ended up being the quote, even to inspire the photo selections. Slightly altered it to fit our family and there you have it, my layout for the challenge, and a year in review wrapping up the feel of Jan 2013.
Used Maris's Pillowed-e background from Superlatives, and darkened it to go along with the air-mail envelope colors. The stamp idea came from one of her assets as well, though I ended up creating my own from scratch so as to have the size so that the dimensions of my photos and layout worked a little better.
The air-mail envelop was cleaned up from http://www.fuzzimo.com
Found I'm going to have to stop being so detail oriented or I'm not going to be able to get much digital scrapping down. It took tooo long! Found myself trying to quote and follow, what my HS Art teacher often quoted to me, when he would grab my work out from under my brush. "Don't get so caught up in the details...look at it from across the room...SEE?...NOW go wash your brushes out, cause your DONE!"

Nice layout! Love the vintage envelope.
I like the layout to incorporate a lot of pictures. I also really like the wise words from your teacher! I need to remember that myself!
