5 Things About Jared, Part 3
Sahm to 2 handsome boys... Love music, cooking, traveling, the outdoors, landscape photography, labrador retrievers & siameses (I have 3!) and, most of all, my hubby of 20 years...
I ventured into digiscrapping at the recommendation of a friend overseas a few years ago. She had posted a tagger-sized layout of her kids in her signature area at the forum we both posted at. I'd never seen anything like that before & thought it was nice, so I pm'd her & asked her where she had that done (I assumed it was the work of a professional photographer). Imagine my surprise when she told me she had made it herself! She then told me all about digital scrapbooking and encouraged me to give it a try - d/l some freebies and see if I like it - so I did. I had always thought about [paper] scrapbooking, because a bunch of young mums at our church had scrapbooking & "stamping" parties, but lack of storage space kept me from doing it (well, that and the fact that we are a single income family). Needless to say, digiscrapping was the perfect solution for me. A couple years ago I adopted Pixelscrapper as my home base in digiscrapland because of its friendly & helpful atmosphere... (thank you, Marisa & Jordan!)
I'm one of the rare PSP users out there (also known as "PaintShop Pro")... It's a very good program, is affordable & I like it very much, but I admit it's been frustrating because I've discovered over the last couple years that most of the digiscrap community uses Photoshop, and therefore the tutorials, classes & supplies are all geared toward that. I wanted to participate more in the challenges, but a lack of current PSP tutorials, classes & what not has held me back from doing that & reaching my full potential in digiscrapping.
