I've always been creative, freelance designing for needlework manufactures, kit makers, and publishers. About 10 years ago, I started designing dolls because I was tired of writing instructions and I discovered the sky was the limit in the crafts I applied to it. I loved that! In 2012, I accidentally did some major damage to my right hand so my fine motor skills are shot, though my typing is finally getting better and I can actually grip and hold and control things (like my mouse) so much better now though paint brushes, pens and knives are still my enemies. Yeah! I discovered digital scrapbooking and my Pazzles Inspiration Cutter and I fell in love! I had more luck with the digital because glue is still an enemy when you don't have the control over placing it and pretty soon I was HOOKED!!
I created my blog originally to share my experience in finding new ways to express myself
creatively, and next thing I know, I was designing digital scrapbook kits. PBDesigns.biz switched from being a doll artist site to being a digital scrap designer site. My design name is now Pamela Bachmayer Designs, though pbdesigns is still one I'm known by. I opened my own small store at the site two years ago and now also have a store at With Love Studio. My ability to use my hand has improved tremendously over the last couple of years and I'm excited to be adding more fun and unique elements to my kits as I learn control over the pen tool and brushes. Thank goodness for layers and the ability to undo or move something over if I don't get it right the first time.
I also have 3 grown children (though my son was killed by a drunk driver in 2013), 4 beautiful grandchildren, an awesome hubby! Live in Texas on the family ranch and work for the FIL's cotton gin when the cotton crop comes in. That's 12 hours a day/ 7 days a week until the last bale is ginned. How long that last depends on the crop that year. Last year it lasted four months. I also love to read and work in my garden, but my studio is still my favorite place in the house.
Another of Katy and her friend, taking selfies in the fitting room. I used the paint platters in this kit several times, using different blends on each one to get a variety of effects and so it didn't look as much like I was reusing the same one over and over *though I did*
