About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

Description
We are not the first. Another of my most favourite books. This book was published in 1972 but I didnt find (buy or read) it until the mid 1990s. So along with Cosmos, this book also gave me a huge amount of alternative education - which was quite different from what I learnt at school.
I had also developed an obsession with Leonardo Da Vinci's science experiments and his notebooks, so when I finally found some physical volumes to read, I poured over those books as well. (I am not terribly fussed about his paintings).
Mainstream historians were bent on trying to tell me that Leonardo had discovered a whole new science. But it was plainly obvious that he was building on the old Greek science of the Classical era. He must have been able to get hold of some Italian or Latin translations of the greek classics that were saved by the Arabs.
So between these 2 books (We are not the First and Cosmos) we humans clearly have a long history of being intelligent and very smart. I question why modern historians want to dumb us down by saying that we have only reached the apex of our civilisation in the 20th and 21st centuries. That to me, is clearly a false statement.
