About Me
New to Digital Scrapbooking, just started in 2019, want to make a record of family stories before my mother passes away. My dad died in 2016. I currently live in Canada but was born and raised in New Zealand, and emigrated to Canada upon marrying my Canadian spouse. Home Country - lets see - New Zealand or Canada? Which to choose? Most of my photos will be from NZ, but any pics of my son will be from Canada. MY IP Address will say that I am in Canada which is fine. My mother and sister are still back in NZ so I will make my home country as NZ for now. For Facebook, I dont check it every day - I am not addicted to FB, and I use a different name for privacy. My image is myself as a child - aged about 2 or 3 years old

These two ideas go together. One by the Buddha and the other a Proverb.
First. Don't be a sheep and believe everything you are told. You should check it out first - and determine if the information is logically sound, and reasonable. Second, if you have determined that the information is logically sound and reasonable, you may accept it and live your life by it.
Your life IS SHAPED by your thoughts and beliefs. Especially those beliefs you accept from a very young age.
The Psychologists have determined that all human have a "child tape" or a "child voice" in our brains, and that child tape is filled with everything we learned and experienced when we were children. Even as adults, we can still revert to our child tape in our thinking and our responses, especially when undergoing a trauma of some kind.
It is possible to change some of the responses from the child tape, but it takes a great deal of emotional strength to do this. Especially if we want to change the "outdated" information we were given as children.
I have experienced this for myself. It took me a number of years to remove the old religion of my childhood from my psyche (my brain) and replace it with a new belief system that is much more logically sound and reasonable. One that I have now lived by for the last 30 years.
