About Me
Hi! I'm Sarah, a 26-year-old woman from England. I love getting creative, be it with writing or graphic design, or using both to complement each other. I've made wonderful friends all over the world with my writing online, and I hope to make new ones through this site :)
Type of Project
Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
I kept this simple as it will be an Xmas present for my 92-year-old Nan who lost her beloved husband 10 years ago. She loves photos, but her eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so I didn't want to detract too much from the pictures here.
I admire my grandparents so much and I tried to capture their essence. The army green and brass represents my brave grandfather. He served in WWII and was captured in Burma, a POW for several years in harsh conditions, later writing and publishing his memoirs.
The different purple hues are for my very 1940s grandmother, who loves the colour (even her engagement ring is a purple sapphire). I tried to bring in nature with the vintage overlay and the butterfly, as the garden has always been a passion of theirs, and my nan used to be a keen seamstress before she grew too old.
Elements used here are a mish mash. Some are my own, and others are modified designs from the wonderful girls here at pixelscrapper and SugarHillco.
Much love everyone, see you soon

Love this!
beautiful LO, :)
Sarah, this is lovely, and so is the story behind it. My dad died earlier this year, and I want my very first layouts to be in memory of him. You've really given me some ideas on how to go about it, now. Thank you!
This is lovely! Great job.
What a great tribute! I love this and am sure it will mean a lot to your grandmother.
ohhh this is beautiful
I love, love, love it. So Beautiful.
Lovely vintage layout, thank you for sharing the story behind it. I love how you personalized it with all kinds of elements that reminders you of your Nan.
Love the story behind the LO as much as I love the LO. Very nice; thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous layout and I'm sure she will love and cherish it!!
this is beautiful and I love the old photos!
Great use old old photos.
Love your layout! My grandmother's battled with her eye-sight this last year, and my folks have said that she can't see to play solitaire on the computer anymore. Looking forward to see her soon, and checking on her myself. Know your Nan will love this!
I love this Sarah! Great job!
This reminds me so much of some pictures I have of my
parents wedding. They were married in 1942 in
Norfolk, Virginia in a little chapel at the Naval Base there while my dad was still serving in the Navy.
Sadly, they are both gone now...which is why I really love
your words..."Yesterday's memories are today's treasures"
Such a beautiful sentiment! :-)
LOVE your layout. Everything matches so well! Also, fantastic behind-the-scenes story for this LO. Do you say that your grandmother don´t see very well anymore - try to find if somewhere - not a scrapbook printing service, but a place that print banners and vynil to use in stores and events - you can print it on 17 in istead of 12. I use to print some LOs as mini banners to decorate doors.
Gorgeous. Those are some treasures of photos you have!!
This is beautiful Sarah!
Love this vintage LO
