Welcome New Designer Meagan!

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 09/14/2023 - 00:07

So thrilled to announce that we are adding Meagan Johnson as a new designer to our team here at DigitalScrapbook.com . I have been watching her pocket scrapping designs develop for years and she has finally taken the plunge to join us here! Meagan is a dedicated pocket scrapper, doing a lot of her scrapping with apps instead of a big program like Photoshop. She's a great resource if you're looking for a lighter way to scrapbook that doesn't require a computer.

Capturing Travel Memories in Pocket Pages

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 08/09/2023 - 23:00

One of the things I like most about my weekly pocket scrapping habit is that it works for special occasions and travel as well as it does for everyday life. This means that I don't "get behind" on either one of those categories because I'm working on the other one. Weeks when we are traveling I just end up with more photos on the layout than regular weeks. And with a pocket style layout I find it pretty easy to add in more photos because you are already working within the grid framework of the layout.

Digital Pocket Scrapping: 2021 Finished Album

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 01/26/2022 - 22:00

Sharing the results of my seventh year of creating a weekly digital pocket spread. At some point I got kind of behind on uploading my layouts to the gallery here and then eventually I got really behind. So I've decided at this point to cut my losses and start fresh with the new year. I'm implementing a few new work flows to my scrapbooking and hopefully that will help me actually get layouts posted here.

Making a Digital Scrapbooking Baby Album

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 04/08/2021 - 22:00

I shared here everything I know about pocket scrapbooking, but I didn't tell you about the baby albums I've been making for my children. One of the great things about digital scrapbooking is that it lets you cheat pretty easily. Want to use the same layout in multiple albums, no problem! I've been taking full advantage of this and adjusting my weekly layouts into special spreads for each of my kids.

My 2020 Digital Pocket Scrapbook

By Marisa Lerin Fri, 01/01/2021 - 22:00

I am feeling somewhat overly ambitious to be sharing my finished 2020 album so soon in 2021. I'm usually more behind than this. The only thing I can credit with my early success this year is my iPad which inspired me to actually decorate my scrapbook pages in my "free" time. I wrote quite a bit here about my actual process for doing this project. This is the sixth year I've completed in this format so it's quite well ingrained in my routine.

Everything About Digital Pocket Scrapbooking

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 12/16/2020 - 22:00

Digital pocket pages are an amazing way to collect all the random photos from your week (or month, or whatever) and put them on one page without feeling like a crazy person. If you take a lot of photos there is no better method for actually getting them in an album and printed than using pocket pages. This style of layout template both gives you a lot of places to put photos and also tells you where to put them without it looking like a mess. Plus you can decorate as much or as little as you want, so you can make it your own or just get it done.

Digital Scrapbook Pocket Pages: July 2020

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 11/12/2020 - 22:00

Flashing back to our summer in Oregon for these digital pocket pages from July of this year. I've been thinking a bit about repetition in life, versus novelty. Sometimes there's a pressure to try new things, when really doing the same old thing is great. I mean, I don't drink a different beverage every morning. I drink tea because I like it the best. No one questions this kind of repetition in life. But when it comes to other areas, I feel like there's often a pressure to keep trying something new. Which can be great if you're stuck in a rut or need a new view.

Digital Scrapbook Pocket Pages: June 2020

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 10/15/2020 - 22:00

Catching up on sharing my digital pocket pages for June of this year. I got a new iPad over the summer and it's really revolutionized my scrapping process. As in I actually make digital scrapbook layouts now. While I have always loved making digital pages, it's been a struggle to do yet another thing on my computer. Once I'm done with work for the day, I don't really like to go back and sit at my computer, even if it's for something really fun. This is one of the reasons I picked up paper scrapbooking again.

Digital Scrapbook Pocket Pages: May 2020

By Marisa Lerin Tue, 09/29/2020 - 22:00

Today I'm sharing my digital scrapbook pocket pages from May of this year. No matter how many of these pocket spreads I make, I don't seem to get tired of it. It does help to have new digital scrapbooking designs to choose from, or old kits I've forgotten about, to keep things interesting.
