How to Digital Scrapbook on iPad

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 02/03/2021 - 22:00

Over the summer I finally talked Jordan into getting me an iPad. I had been wanting one for a while, but since we don't use Apple products it seemed like it might be a splurge on something that may not integrate very well with the rest of my devices. But now that I've had it for a little over half a year I thought I'd write up what I like about it and what I like doing on it.

And just to be clear, we are not a family of Apple enthusiasts. Just thought I'd state that up front so you know where I'm starting from when I review the iPad.

My Current Photo Work Flow

By Marisa Lerin Tue, 11/13/2018 - 00:00

I was going to share my weekly photo flow in my post about Google Photos, but it got so long, I decided to share it separately. I've had lots of photo work flows through the years, but Google Photos and my smartphone camera has definitely simplified the process. Since all my phone photos sync up automatically I never have to plug anything in to my computer to access my photos. Why plugging stuff in is so hard, I don't know, but I know you know that I am right.

Using Google Photos

I've been using Google Photos for a while to backup my photos, but honestly it's a lot more than just backup. Today I thought I'd share a few of my favorite functionalities.

Line a Day Journal Spreadsheet

I have occasionally shared ideas I've had to try to keep some sort of daily journal. For different reasons nothing has really stuck. Although I think I may have finally found a system that works for me.

How to Pin From Instagram on Your Phone

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 04/27/2016 - 00:00

Instagram is my favorite social media site, and the only one I'm really active on (follow me here!). I will admit now that I mostly follow animals that live in Japan, but I also follow some creative people and find their photos very inspiring, inspiring enough that I want to pin the photo somewhere important on one of my Pinterest boards. I was very frustrated for a quite a while because I could not figure out how to do it. Then one day, I figured it out and my life has been so much better! I will share with you now my secret:

Just Make Stuff

Is one of your goals for the new year to get organized? We have a thread in our forums dedicated to organizing digital supplies, and it's such a popular topic that we've stuck it to the top of the forum and the moderators and I are always referring people to it. What's a digital scrapbooker to do with so much stuff? For some of you DigitalScrapbook.com is not really helping the situation, so I'm here today to let you in on a secret and the key to my success at actually finishing layouts.

10 Tips to Using Evernote

After last week's post about using Evernote for recipe organization, I thought it might be helpful to share a bit more about this very useful tool.

Banana Bread Biscotti and My Recipe Organization

By Marisa Lerin Wed, 04/10/2013 - 07:06

Over the weekend it became apparent that I was going to have to do something about the banana situation on the counter. Not even the ants were going to take them away (although the ants seem quite impressed with our honey despite the fact that they can't get out of it). I like banana bread, but not really enough to eat a loaf of it, and since Jordan and I are only living with animals right now, this didn't seem like the recipe to make. I made muffins a few weeks ago, so that wasn't going to cut it either.

Improving Digital Scrapbooking Skills

Getting Started Digital Scrapbooking

Yesterday I was browsing through folders of my old work when I realized that I have a whole year's worth of work that I've been ignoring and that needs to be updated and uploaded to the site (a lot of it is here, but you can't easily tell that it's related). So you can except a lot of mini kits and their assets to be appearing here.
