The Pixel Scrapper Team

Meet the amazing Pixel Scrapper team! We don't have an application page right now, but if you're interested in joining us for any of the positions below, we post call outs in the forums from time to time: so your best bet is to keep an eye on things, and be active in the community!

Fearless Leaders

Marisa first started Pixel Scrapper as a hobby site in 2010. In 2012 she got Jordan to come on board as full-time webmaster and systems administrator!

  1. Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at Pixel Scrapper a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. Pixel Scrapper has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at Pixel Scrapper where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

  2. I'm married to Marisa Lerin. I don't do much digital scrapbooking myself, but I am passionate about creativity, visual design, technology, and the web. I also help to run this website!

Designers

Our designers are super talented and super tight: friends who met right here at Pixel Scrapper! Click on their profile pictures to see their designs and learn more about them.

  1. I came to digital scrapbooking by way of Project Life, which I did in physical form for the first year and then tried out doing digitally, and became hooked for life on digital documenting. I made my first designs to share as contributions for Pixel Scrapper blog trains, and am now thrilled to have joined up as a member of the Pixel Scrapper design team! I create products for digital pocket scrapbooking and traditional scrapbooking, and want to support people however I can in creatively and easefully documenting their lives.

You can follow along with my Project Life adventures (and find past blog train goodies and other freebies) at my blog, Scrumptiously: http://eversoscrumptiously.wordpress.com/

  2. I am a dedicated stay at home mom to a most awesome husband and 4 amazing children. My husband and I have been married for 20 years, and my children are my everything. My most favorite thing in the world to do apart from family time is design. I've been into scrapbooking forever, but started the digi world of scrapbooking for about 5 years now, and started designing about 2 years ago. I also love reading to, playing with, and homeschooling my little ones. We are in the military, so we have also traveled a lot, but I am happy to be finally settled here in Alabama and retiring this year!

  3. Hey there,

I'm Janet. I was born and raised in Minnesota. In 2002 I met my dear hubby and in 2009, after a long wait we had our first baby girl, Annelyse. Then in February of 2012 we were surprised with the early birth of our youngest daughter, Sophia who was born three months premature. When I'm not taking care of my crazy, sweet, spunky, girls, I run my photography and design businesses. I must have ran across pixel scrapper early on when it was first started. I downloaded a few things but then got busy taking care of my first baby girl. Now I'm coming back and am very thankful for the resources that you provide. It's tough to find quality, free of charge, digital papers, templates, and assets that can be used for commercial purposes.

  4. I love to be creative with many different kinds of mediums, from the moment I was born. I love drawing, painting, sculpturing, cross stitching, sewing and much more. Photography is another passion of mine and I take this with me when I explore the richness of culture the world has to offer. Because I love to travel and made many photos along my journeys, I looked for a creative way to journal all the gained impressions and memories.

About ten years ago I started to fall in love with paper scrapping. I collected a lot of scrapbooking material and made quite a collection of pages. After a while I found myself having less and less time to spend on my hobbies and a few years ago I discovered the ease of use of digital scrapbooking. By making scrapbook pages on my computer, I can scrapbook whenever I have a spare moment, wherever I am.

I recently graduated from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and I've started my own product design agency called Studio Gekko.

  5. Wife and mother of two, a graphic- and webdesigner by day and scrapaddict by night!

  6. Hello!

Pixel Scraper is my first place where I started designing, actually to be correct it is where I started scrapbooking! And I love this place, fellow designers and the PS community where everyone is so helpful and full of love!

Moderators

Our moderators are super friendly, super active community members who keep our forums running like a well-oiled machine! Now if only Jordan would help them out by implementing forum search...

  1. I love to scrap. I scrap in both digital and traditional. I got into scrapping about 14 years ago because I absolutely love photography and was working on my husbands and mine genealogy at the time. I am a self-professed "pin"aholic on Pinterest!!! I also have a Cricut & Wishblade and love using them for vinyl cutting and scrapping!

  2. I'm digital scrapbook designer. As an artistic soul I love creating beautiful designs allowing me to express myself. I share my passion for creation at Sunshine Inspired Designs. My adventure with digital scrapbooking started while my husband and I decided to travel indefinitely and traditional scrapbooking wasn't an option any more. I fell in love with it so much that I decided to create my own kits and share them with everyone who loves scrapbooking as much as I do.

I'm also passionate about animals and photography, so it only seemed natural to start photographing them! In addition to my work as a photographer, I hold a degree in Environmental Biology from Gdansk University, Poland. I’ve worked with many amazing animals throughout my years as an animal care giver, pet sitter, volunteer, and trainer.

  3. I collect pez dispensers and have 1500+

I love the mountains and being outside

I went to Africa for a whole day once

I have an awesome husband named Bill

I love to look at pictures, my own and everyone else's

I randomly open fridges - yep - everywhere I go - I don't even know why and most of the time I open it and close it and can't even tell you what was in there - maybe it is my subconscious making sure I will have food if I am stuck there for a few days - very strange - I don't get it

  4. I'm a graphic design/photography double major at a small art school. I use Photoshop CS3. I've been scrapping since 2004 when I worked for a traditional scrapbooking supply company. My job there was to make digital layouts using the products so they could be placed in the catalog to showcase how the products could be used...so I kinda got into digi-scrapping more than the traditional scrapping since I like that you can reuse things as much as you like and even resize and recolor as needed.

  5. Hobbyist of many things, lover of all things photography. Learning photography on my own as well as digital scrapbooking, editing and many other things! :)

  6. I am a 28 years-old Brazilian, married for 5 years, and with no human kids for now, but 5 cats istead. I was a teacher, but I gave up on teaching, profession that I chose to young to know what I was doing, and I´m looking for other possibilities.

I have been scrapping and digiscrapping for a couple of years, but I still need to learn a lot. I also recently started designing for scrapbooking, which is hard, but I really like to do. I´m also in geek/nerdy culture, and I love literature!

  7. I enjoy digital scrapping. I actually do both digital and paper scrapping. Something I have been doing for years.
I am a designer, web designer, and a Professor at our local College. I have taught Photoshop, Web Design and all of the MsOffice programs, as well as many different subjects in the CIS department.

    Happy scrapping.

These ladies are the super heroes of Pixel Scrapper! Since day one, we've had a dream of free daily download credits, and making all our designs available for individual download; well, these upload helpers are the ones who make that dream possible!

  2. I'm a mommy to 2 boys and a wife to my best friend. I've been scrapping for almost a year now and I love it more and more every day. I started with Gimp but now mostly use PSPx while still using Gimp for things I haven't yet learned in PSP.

  3. New to Digital Scrapbooking and looking for all the help I can get! :P
So far I've been enjoying making my own elements, though they are still pretty basic, in Photoshop and Illustrator. I love learning new things and pushing my limits.
Below you ask my Home Country. It's Canada but I'm currently living in Mexico, in the beautiful city of Cancun.

  4. Hi. My name is Tina and I'm a digi scrapping addict! I started paper scrapping back in 2002 when my youngest son was 2 years old. I discovered digi scrapbooking in 2006 and never looked back. I live in Florida with my DH and our 2 boys and lots of animals!

  5. Wife and mom to three cute kids. They are the stars of my scrapbooking layouts! I am also now a designer of digital scrapbook products. We don't have any kids but have MANY nieces and nephews! I have been digi-scrapping since 2004 and designing papers and elements since 2008. I also do a little digital Art Journaling.

  8. Retired in Dec 2011 and finally have time to get into digi-scrapping! First PSE classes taken in June so finally understood how to make a layout. Lots of hobbies: ceramics, crocheting, cross stitch, sewing (especially baby doll clothes for grand nieces) and want to learn to knit!

  9. Hi, I'm Mariah. I'm a full time Multimedia student and stay at home mom (my daughter just turned 2). I've always wanted to scrapbook but never thought I had the ability and had no real idea what I was doing or how. Now that my daughter is getting older I want to start putting a bunch of her adventures together. And I think this is the perfect way.

  10. 6/26/13 I'm very new to digital scrapbooking, it seems very fun but I don't know where to start. For now I'm printing elements to use in other projects.
7/16/13 As of yesterday I've officially started making layouts, yay!
8/21/13 omg this is so fun and I can't stop doing it, totally addicted!!
9/7/13 Digi is becoming quite the commitment for me, I'm on a few CTs, dabbled in designing, and started a blog! http://thisnthatbycat.blogspot.com/

  11. I recently gained an interest in digital scrapbooking after making an online album for family. Years ago I toted all my scrapbooking supplies to crops and had a great time, but the albums never got completed :-) My goal is to make an album for each of my children before they have families of their own. Photography and hiking are my passions, but I branched out and completed my first 'rugged maniac' 5k two months ago with my daughter.

  12. I just celebrated my 49th birthday this month (February 2014) and am currently a stay-at-home grandma. Up until August of 2010 I was the Packaging Center Manager of our local newspaper. I loved my job and it consumed my life. Then in July, I received a summons for jury duty and my life changed drastically overnight. The experience triggered a severe case of PTSD with mild agoraphobia that has kept me locked not just in my home, but in my bedroom in my home. I find it very difficult to interact with people, and physically painful to try to go out in public. Digi-scrapping has become my link to the outside world. Slowly but surely I am beginning to remember who I was before attempting to do my civic duty, lol. I'm happy to be a part of the Pixel Scrapper community and look forward to getting to know everyone.

  13. Married (to the best man in the world), mother of 2 boys, also a bereaved parent...my first child was born with a severe siezure disorder which interferred with his development. He was profoundly retarded and totally handicapped throughout his short life of 13 years. My second son is over twenty years and helps take care of me(more about this below) during the day while my husband is at work.

In January, 2008 I discovered that I had only 3 months until my niece's wedding shower and since I wanted to create a genealogical scrapbook as my gift, I knew there'd be no way I could meet that deadline using the traditional paper scrapping method... so off I went searching for a way to do it digitally...that's when I discovered the world of digital scrapbooking. Since then, I've benn on a few Creative Teams. Then, in 2010, I began trying my hand at designing digital scrapbook products. I sold my designs for 3 years from the digital scrapbook store known as E-scape and Scrap. By April 2013, I decided to give up selling my designs and return to giving them away freely. My plans were to create some tutorials also since I have a professional background in developing 'Computer Based Training' BUT as what often happens with PLANS, my plans were thwarted by my health. I suffered a brain embolism (aka stroke) in July 2013. Now I am a left-sided hemiplegic(left side of my body is paralyzed), Since my left arm is paralyzed, I must do everything one-handed, which makes typing and designing(among other things) a bit of a problem. However, I miss designing so I decided to join this site to participate in the designer challenges with the hope that I'll regain the skills I've since forgotten.

Hopefully, in time (hopefully a short time - because I'm OLD and don't have a lot of time left) and with my physical therapies, I'll one day return to my former mobile self.

  14. I am a mom of two boys, and I am married. We live in Colorado.

  15. Happily married, Pastor's Wife, Former Homeschool Teacher, Proud Parent of two dynamic young people...one of each and BOTH Graduating in May, and looking for where they will continue their educations...one for a Master's and the other under grad work. He'll have several college credits under his belt from this years dual credit courses as a Senior in HS. I live a life complicated by Fibromyalgia.

Creative Team

Meet some of our community's amazingly talented layout makers! Click on their profile pictures to check out their beautiful creations. These ladies provide a huge amount of inspiration for everyone here at Pixel Scrapper!

  1. In addition to my work as a photographer, I hold a degree in Environmental Biology from Gdansk University, Poland. I’ve worked with many amazing animals throughout my years as an animal care giver, pet sitter, volunteer, and trainer.

  2. I'm a freelance editor, writer and photographer. I picked up cardmaking as an art hobby more than 25 years ago. That led to scrapbooking, but really took off when digital scrapbooking software started popping up on the market. It dovetailed well with my career and has sparked an interest in developing skills as a graphic designer. You all are so talented; you inspire me! I live in the beautiful state of Montana where I work from home and volunteer for a local non-profit called the Dylan Steigers Concussion Project. Besides a passion for photography, I love sports, flyfishing, cardmaking, gardening, and walking my favorite beagle. My goal is to become better at making digital content rather than using what others have created so I can give back to this wonderful community of scrapbookers.

  3. I started using Photoshop in 2009 and quickly got discouraged because the program is so large and lots to learn. It didn't help that my mom was ill at the time so my attention was in deficit. Throughout the following years up until 2012, I would go in and play with it, off and on and learn some new things.

2012 comes along and throws all kinds of angst in my way. I lost my mom, the cat I rescued from the nursing home she was in, was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. My world was thrown into turmoil. There was nothing I could do to get my mom back but I was determined not to lose the very young cat that was put into my path to ease my loss. He went through chemo treatments from March 2013 through September 2013 when he was given a clean bill of health and in remission. It is now April 2014 and my boy seems to be doing well with an upcoming ultrasound which will let me know how he is.

Needless to say, during this time of worrying about him and nursing him to eat and get through this, I had a whole lot of time on my hands to fill while waiting for a good outcome. I turned back to Photoshop to occupy my mind and voila, here I am today very much addicted to all Photoshop and Scrapbooking.

Thanks for reading and happy scrapping!!!

  4. Mom of two adult daughters and a teenage son. Full-time wife, mom, student , Program Specialist and crafter. Is there enough time in the day for all of that? Of course, it's all about priorities.

  5. Poet, storyteller, educator, stay-at-home Gran, and glitterizer.

  6. Colour, light and texture... they make my world go 'round! Digital Production Manager by day, crazy mad scientist-like artist by night, not creating is like holding my breath! From old school scrapping and digital to sewing a dainty dress and repurposing an old man jacket into a hat, I'm always busy making, making making!

  7. I am a stay at home Mum to one little girl and a craft addict, I don't feel right if I don't get my crafting fix!I have always crafted in some form or another and tried my hand at all sort including glass painting, jewellery making, sewing, crochet, card making and scrapbooking. I discovered scrapbooking about 10 years ago and got hooked. After years of disregarding digital scrapping I had a sudden conversion in November 2013 and instantly became addicted. Now I can't believe I was so anti it before! As a full time Mum digital scrapping fits so much better into my life and budget at the moment but I will never give up all my lovely stash! I try to make digital layouts in the same style as I would paper ones and make then look as "real" as possible by only using elements which would work on a paper layout, adding shadows and using "glow" to recreate the inking I always add to my paper layouts! I look forward to exploring this new world and having fun here at PS.

  8. I'm a photographer who made the jump (off the deep end!) into digi scrapping and couldn't be happier. Leaping before I look is apparently my M.O. and works for me, as evidenced by making a creative team within a month of joining Pixel Scrapper. (Home sweet home!)

I'm happily married to my redder half, who has finally accepted that my brood of hedgehogs follows me everywhere I go. (Hooray!) Our little balls of quilly love feature heavily in my layouts.

I went to college for Environmental Studies (hence my love of digi scrapping) and tend to have a lot of nature-inspired layouts.

I have fibromyalgia and it SUCKS! Scrapbooking is apparently good therapy for that.

I also have purple hair, some awesome tattoos, an industrial and a sad, lonely dermal anchor.

  9. I am a crafting addict with too many ideas and too little time on her hands. After dusting off the ancient version of PSE6 that's been collecting cobwebs in my hard drive for years I'm hoping to quickly learn the tricks of digital scrapbooking so that I can efficiently and adorably preserve the memories of my three little munchkins and my time with them.

  10. I picked up scrapbooking back when I was in college as a way to showcase my meetings with political big wigs during campaign season, then my cousin had the first great grandchild of the family and I made a scrapbook for my grandmother. I was hooked! I spent all my extra money on scrapbook supplies and started scrapping my old pics with a vengeance.
For my wedding I made my own guestbook and scrapped gifts for my bridesmaids. I then scrapped 4 books for my family members of the wedding. It took me over 4 years (until I found out I was pregnant) to finish my wedding album.
After my son was born in 2012, I was determined not to fall behind again in scrapping so I picked up Digital scrapbooking. Now I create most of my LO's for my son's photobooks and a few layouts of my three fur babies or the occasional one starring my husband or me.
When I am not scrapping, I am chasing around my 2 year old, taking tons of pictures of him, and the occasional hike.
I have started an open Gallery over at http://shellbooking.com

  11. I'm a stay at home mom of 2, a boy 14 yrs old and a girl that is 12 (going on 16)! You can probably find me scrapping, blogging, designing, reading ebooks and reading & watching design/scrapping tutorials! I admit I am a digi addict & I am on the pc way longer than I should be! Luckily the rest of my family is as well, we have just about every digital gadget known to man! I love being a part of Pixel Scrapper CT and am very happy I found Pixel Scrapper in the first place!

  12. Recently retired (4/30/2014) from 30 years in HealthCare finance. Love to scrap my family especially my 3 soon to be 4 grandsons.

  13. I'm a mama to two little boys, and married to my favorite dance partner. I discovered digital scrapbooking in May 2013 and am completely hooked!

When I'm not chasing after my boys, I enjoy reading, cooking, decorating, and basically anything creative. We're in the process of decorating/moving into our new house, and then I hope to start teaching dance again.

  14. 6/26/13 I'm very new to digital scrapbooking, it seems very fun but I don't know where to start. For now I'm printing elements to use in other projects.

  15. I am a newbie to digital scrapbooking, but was hooked as soon as I started playing around with kits, fonts, and photos. I have two spunky little kids that keep me busy, and when I'm not tending to them, I'm chilling with my feet up on my computer or watching some wonderful television programs!

  16. Hi!! I am a mother of two and I live with my two kids, my husband and our Irish Setter in the Netherlands, Europe. I am also a passionate artist, a student of fashion design, a big foodie, a bookworm, digital scrapbooker/graphics designer, lover of art, nature, music, movies and gardening.

  17. I love to be creative with many different kinds of mediums, from the moment I was born. I love drawing, painting, sculpturing, cross stitching, sewing and much more. 18. Once upon a time, in a country far far away lived a Girl with some serious PeterPanSyndrome - she refused to ever, ever grow up. Then one day, feeling numb and exhausted from cramming for Legal Studies exams, she discovered the enchanting arts of Digital Scrapbooking. Seduced instantly by the endless creative possibilities this new hobby provided, she scrapped happily ever after.

This is her shy attempt to share some of the quirky madness that resulted from adventures in the DigiLand hoping to connect with like minded fellow scrappers in search for new inspirations.

Community Members

Of course, the heart and soul of Pixel Scrapper is our community of caring, generous, creative individuals! Our emphasis at Pixel Scrapper is on helping people connect as real people. Each week we pick a random sampling of active members to feature on this page.

  1. I'm the luckiest person in the world to be the mom to 2 daughters who were born in China. My husband of 23.5 years, and I adopted them when they were one. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to work from home so I can home school the girls. I used to do "traditional" scrapbooks, but once I found digital, I never looked back. I love the undo button.

  2. Mom to 3 + 1 = Our 3 kids (15, 10 and 4) along with our 4 yr old niece. Certainly have our hands full. Work from home and having way too much fun with digital scrapbooking!

  3. I'm a stay at home mom of three children. I've been married almost seven years now. I love digital scrapbooking and I have been trying to learn it for a few years. It has been an on and off affair but now I am much more serious and determined to learn it.
I also love creating digital greeting cards and reading.

  4. Mum to 2 teenage boys & 4 fur babies (a lab & 3 siameses)... Love reading, music, cooking, traveling, the outdoors and landscape photography.

I ventured into digiscrapping at the recommendation of a friend overseas a few years ago. I had always thought about [paper] scrapbooking, but lack of storage space kept me from doing it. Needless to say, digiscrapping was the perfect solution for me. I purchased a copy of Paint Shop Pro & began looking for classes and a friendly digiscrap community to participate in. I found Pixelscrapper and the rest, as we say, was history...

  6. I am a photographer based in India and love designing one-of-a-kind albums :)

  7. Greetings! I am from Chapel Hill, NC (USA) and have recently become completely addicted to anything and everything remotely associated with digital scrapbooking. I have no children of my own (unless you count the 2 furry creatures that share my house and beg for food), but I thoroughly spoil any tiny humans I can get my hands on. I have been tagging and designing web pages for tournaments in gaming leagues for several years, but I am relatively new to scrapbooking. I'm branching out and trying my hand at creating an entry for the blog train soon, so you'll be hearing a lot more from me in the future! One question....how do you STOP once you've started creating papers?...I mean, first day of designing and I look up from my creative coma to find that I've made 60!!!!

  8. I've dabbled in graphic design work throughout my career and enjoy it as a hobby now.

  9. Working kind-of-single mom of 4 kids (15, 12, 10 and 3 yo). Started out as a paper scrapper and switched to digital and never looked back. Though I'm regularly pondering wether or not to go hybrid with PL as this would allow me to involve my kids more actively and make this OUR album and not just "my album about our family". I'm also an art journaler and I recently started "designing" (this seems too big a word for what I do) digital scrapbooking supplies... I still need to figure out how to turn some of my AJ stuff into digital products.

  10. ★ Hello everyone, I'm Samantha & I'm a proud mom of 3 lovely & smart kids that make my life way easier ^_^ I'm also married to such an amazing man who help me see the world in a totally different way, We have such a beautiful married life, and a beautiful family too, but besides my personal life I enjoy designing, it's my passion and what i love to do besides being a mom & wife of course..

Creations by: Samantha is how you can find me around the web... Designing it's something that happens when i sit down on my desk and turn on my laptop with a huge cup of coffee, i just love spending my spare time creating/designing something it helps me to relax and the time goes by so fast.. i love having the ability to create anything pretty with just one click..
