About Me
I discovered digital scrapbooking through a magazine at my dentist's office when my girls were toddlers. I downloaded GIMP shortly thereafter, and the rest is history. My teenagers aren't nearly as cute to scrap now as they were then - but I still love documenting who we are as a family. And hey, occasionally now my layouts don't even include my kids :P
I sometimes even get to use the skills I learned digital scrapbooking for my work (I do communications for a nonprofit ministry that provides educational opportunities for kids in Guatemala)
Besides digital scrapbooking, I enjoy geocaching, hiking, x-country skiing, hanging around with international students, reading, stewarding a little free library, and cheering on my family at their many races . . .
Oh, and I'm Canadian, eh? We put two Ls in journalling and a U in colour on purpose :)

Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
For my daughter's 16th birthday, instead of a big party (since we had recently moved), we reached out to friends, family, teachers, coaches, etc. etc to send her a birthday card or a birthday email. She ended up with at least 100 messages from around the globe!
Journalling reads:
Operation Birthday Wish ended up being a huge success. At first, you didn't know
what to make of the gift - a wrapped box containing a bunch of sealed envelopes. You opened a few at the restaurant, and then we headed home to tackle the rest. Dozens of cards sharing memories, sharing advice, and wishing you a sweet sixteen.
Then, when you thought you were done, you found the
card at the bottom, with a password to an email address
containing even more birthday messages. Friends, family -
even your kindergarten teacher from Fort St. John, your
first swim coach, and the librarian here at your new school -
took the time to make your 16th birthday sweet! ~ 01.17

Thanks, Courtney, for the inspiration - and thanks to both of you for your kind words :)
What a cool idea! I love how you lifted my layout into a smaller size. The sparkly 16 and sweet are fantastic!
Beautiful, Teddy. Love it.
