Besides paper craft/digi paper crafts...

Besides paper craft/digi paper crafts what are some of your favorite hobbies?

I love to paint, both digitally and onto canvas (although more recently it has all been digital). I am not a very good artist but it makes me happy smiley I have crocheted too but I am finding it more stressful than relaxing lol! Outside of crafting I am beginning my baking journey, still in the early stages but I am super happy with my progress. I love listening to music too, that probably feeds my soul more than anything else.

For me, hobbies occur sporadically- usually what ever inspires me at that point. Sometimes sewing or cross stitch. Often reading. More recently Ive enjoyed trying new recipes.

My hobby is picking up a hobby, buying a stupid number of supplies to do said hobby, and then getting sidetracked by another hobby - and rinse and repeat.

I dabble in genealogy. I love the mystery of finding dates/locations and the bonus is finding their photo or headstone, it's like bringing them back to the present!

I collect model horses, dabble in creative writing and have recently picked up gardening with a local community garden.

For me currently:

Boardgaming (modern euro games), knitting, crochet, reading, genealogy, cooking low carb/keto and South Asian/Indian food (I like trying new recipes), walking, watching foreign language films and classic movies especially from the 30s & 40s.

Although I don't get to do it very often, I love canoeing and hiking in up north in Canadian Shield country.

@Anne: I love board games too. I made a new post about it.

I'm pretty new here and hope to do everything the right way. I digiscrapped a long while ago and refound this hobby for a few weeks ago.
My other big hobby is crochet and especially making baby stuff and baby toys.

Katherine! I LOVE genealogy too. I discovered that my family came on a ship from France in 1718.

Kris, how awesome! I have family from Ireland and England, seems like they all came over in the 1700's, as well.

Reading and cross-stitch. I also love teaching crafts.

I can so relate to this. smiley

ah, we have a lot in common everyone..I paint and work in colored pencil, crochet, baking, sewing(NOT quiliting), including machine embroidery. when I needed a new machine after 40 years, I splurged on an emroidery machine. Hwoever card making is currently Luring me in ... smiley haha

Gill - you have to watch out for that Luring. I used to quilt and when we downsized, I gave all my stash to my sisters and friends. But sometimes, I hear that "luring" call - "come and quilt....." smiley

@Trish! LOL I do the same thing!

Right now I love Swap-Bot. I know it is not really a hobby per-se but I love it.

Ah, where to start? lol

There's genealogy, loom knitting, gaming (mostly MMORPGs, currently GW2), I keep a bullet journal and I'm an activist.

Genealogy has led me to discover my great uncle Tommy was killed in a "road accident" during the Cold War while visiting Stalingrad in 1957 during peace & trade talks. He was the president of his trade union and a member of Scottish Labour. I also found out that my uncle Alan & 2 of his friends were killed in a hit & run by an Australian AirForce officer while stationed in Singapore 1961, no charges were brought as commonwealth military were exempt from prosecution.

I also found two relatives hidden by adoption; my big sister in 2004 (my mum should never have been given the responsibility of any child at any point in her life, but misogyny exists) and an aunt (well her son) about a month ago - my grandmother gave up a daughter, who was born approximately 18 months after my mother at the end of WWII. I can't imagine what life was like for her with everything she endured in such a small space of time.

A few years ago, me and my mom became a bit obsessed with cross-stitching to the point that we slept around 2am daily. Now we have several framed projects that we use to decorate the walls and gift to friends and other relatives.

@Yara: The craft obsession can be real smiley

I have far too many hobbies, but I'm rarely bored. smiley I was led hear by my latest - junk journaling. My sister is a scrapbooker and her things are beautiful. I want to combine my junk journaling with scrapping. This will most likely be a hybrid of digital and physical for me.

I also decoupage, dabble in tole painting, drawing (I publish my own adult coloring books), gardening, baking, crochet, knit, glue crafts, and the list could go on and on.

Trish and I are hobby twins! smiley

My hobby is basically wasting time getting ready for a new hobby, then burning out before I've even really begun, or seeing something shiny to my left, SQUIRREL!

Well, I've done quite a few crafts over the years; cross stitching, making hand-sewn teddy bears, cardmaking and crochet!
